Diego Simeone reportedly agrees £9.2m per year to become Chelsea's next manager

With Athletico Madrid manager, Diego Simeone coming to join the fray of best coaches plying their trades in EPL, one can safely conclude that the Premier League ( as from next season) is primed for a revolution. I bet no one saw this coming. If the reports are anything to go by though. 
According to sources, the 45 year-old has agreed £9.2m per year to become Chelsea’s next manager. The Argentine football manager reportedly discussed the offer with his current club before deciding to take up the challenge.

Chelsea are disrespecting John Terry – David Luiz

Former Chelsea player, David Luiz has accused The Blues of disrespecting one of their legends, John Terry by not offering him a new deal. The Brazilian who left Stamford Bridge for PSG two years ago in a £50million deal, told reporters the ex England Captain deserves a contract extension despite the latter making it clear he doesn’t. 
“John is probably Chelsea’s greatest ever player, the club need to show him some more respect. He has been clear that he wants to stay at the club, and they are making him wait for an answer.
“That is not how you treat a player who has given you so much and been a big part of so much success. The fans love John – if this is not handled well, they are not going to be happy.
“I am confused why John hasn’t been offered a new contract. He is still the best central defender at the club and one of the best in England, there should be no question about him being offered another a year.
“I really don’t know what to say, the whole situation has confused me. I think it’s obvious to everybody he deserves an extension.”

Brazilian authorities freeze Neymar's assets

An update on Neymar’s tax evasion case. Brazilian authorities have reportedly frozen the Barcelona star’s assets; which consist of a yacht, jet, and several other properties valued at about $50m. This development is coming after the rejection of his appeal by a Sau Paolo Federal court a week ago.
The ex Santos player and his family were charged with tax evasion and forgery between 2011 and 2013. They reportedly refused to pay 40% of his total transfer fee to Grupo Sonda, who invested in him when was young. Barcelona claimed his total transfer fee was $74m and that $18.5m was paid to Santos, and the rest into a company owned by his father but investigation revealed that the Spanish giants actually paid $90 million for the striker. 
“He can still appeal that decision, but it is a step forward. Nothing changed to what was in place last year: if he pays what he owes, the case is closed. Our legislation isn’t too harsh.” Iagaro Jung Martins, an auditor with Brazil’s federal tax agency told The Associated Press.

While the statement has been received with shock by many Nigerians, with many praising him for putting so much at stake to serve his fatherland.

Manchester United to name stand after Bobby Charlton

Manchester United have revealed their plans to honour one of the club’s legends and incumbent director, Bobby Charlton by naming the South Stand at Old Trafford after him. The unveiling will take place at the home game against Everton on April 2. 

Speaking about the decision, United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward said: “Bobby is, quite simply, the most iconic figure in English football history. A player, a diplomat, a gentleman and a tireless worker for charity, he represents everything that is good about football and Manchester United.

He continued, “It has been a privilege to know him and humbling to work alongside him for the last 10 years. Renaming the South Stand, which contains both the Directors’ Box and the old players’ changing rooms, is a fitting tribute to all that Bobby has contributed to the club both as a player and a director.”

Reacting to the honour, the English former football player said, “This is a great honour and I am very proud – for myself and my family – that the club has chosen to name the South Stand after me. Manchester United has been such an important part of my life and I have so many wonderful memories of this Theatre of Dreams. As a player, I remember the goals and the marvelous players I played with. As a director, I have seen some outstanding matches and players. It is a special place indeed.

“I would like to thank everyone connected with Manchester United. So many people work so hard to keep us at the top; their effort should never be forgotten. But most of all, I would like to thank Norma, my wonderful wife, and my family for the support and encouragement they have always provided. This is for them.”
Charlton joined United in 1953 and scored 249goals in  758 appearances.
