BEYONCE AND JAY Z WELCOME & NAME BABY GIRL

30 year-old fantastic singer, Beyoncé and her 42 year-old husband Shawn Carter, popularly called Jay-Z welcomed their first child –a baby girl, on Saturday January 7, 2012.

Jay Z was beside the multiple Grammy award winner during the ceasarian operation at the Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City.

The girl has been named Ivy Blue.

KAFFY NAMES CHILD

Ace dancer and Guiness book of records holder Kafayat Shafau a.k.a Kaffy with her husband-to-be Joseph Ameh had their child's naming ceremony on wednesday 5th January 2012 at their Ajah's residence in Lagos at about 4 pm.
The male child was named Joseph Oluwatosin Seun Ameh kamal and nicknamed Lil' Jay by his parents.

French footballer, Henry Thierry has finally completed his short-term loan move to his former club, Arsenal.
The 34 year-old who made 370 appearances and was an all-time leading scorer chipping in 226 goals, helping the Gunners win two Premier League titles and three FA Cups.
Speaking on his return, he said, "when it comes to Arsenal my heart will always do the talking. Once I knew the plan behind it I was OK with it. I am not coming here to be a hero or prove anything. I am just coming here to help. People have to understand that. Marouane and Gervinho are going to the Africa Cup of Nations, so I was asked to fill in the gap. It is a loan deal and I'll be on the bench most of the time. If I can make the bench that is! The boss has a team here already who are doing something good. I am just going to be part of the squad."

WORLD RECORD: ONE YEAR OLD WITH 34 FINGERS AND TOES

Akshat Saxena, a one year old Indian boy has earned himself a place in the world record after being born with 14 fingers and 20 toes beating a Chinese boy's previous record of 31 fingers and toes.
Though he has been operated and now has 10 fingers and 10 toes, his parents were shocked when they found out and after their family friend finally convinced them to enter his data on the internet, they discovered his name was already registered in the record book.

LOUIS VUITTON PARTNERS WITH JACQUES CAVALLIER-BELLETRUD TO PRODUCE FIRST FRAGRANCE

Maverick designer Louis Vuitton has confirmed its decision to partner with renowned perfumer Jacques Cavalier-Belletrud (behind the likes of Issey Miyake's L'Eau d'Issey, Jean Paul Gaultier Classique, Opium pour Homme and more recently, Stella McCartney L.I.L.Y) to work on a new fragrance.
It is worthy of note that Louis Vuitton marketed three fragrances in the 1920s-1930s but later discontinued it.
According to Cavallier-Belletrud who began work on 3rd January, "Joining Louis Vuitton is an honour and a pleasure, It is a unique and particularly exciting adventure, all the more so as I share the Maison's values: respect for expertise, craftsmanship and the choice of the finest materials. The Maison's Heritage is also an inexhaustible source of inspiration."
The fragrance will be distributed exclusively via Louis Vuitton boutiques.

UK'S BIGGEST RESTAURANT ATTRACTS 60, 000 DINERS WITHIN ONE MONTH

Acclaimed as UK's biggest restaurant, about 60, 000 diners stormed Za Za Bazaar restaurant during December 2011 (equivalent to the entire population of a city the size of Torquay, the native population of Venice – or one in ten people living in Bristol).
The bristol-based brand which has provided employment for about 130 people hopes to looking to employ an additional 30 roll out 1,000 jobs over the next 18 months to employees, including waiting staff, receptionists and section heads.

OBAFEMI MARTINS TO EXPEND MILLIONS ON CHARITY

Rubin Kazan striker Obafemi Martins has revealed his intentions to help alleviate the poverty in his country.
Obagoal as fondly called through his Obafemi Martins Foundation which is dedicated to the memory of his deceased mother and brother has bugetted over 400 million Naira (over $2.5 million) on the project.
Obagoal during the recent holidays paid a visit to a motherless children's home in Lagos, where he donated food items to the 100 inmates.
"Nigerians deserve to live a better life, but the government alone cannot do everything. It is left for organisations and individuals who are in a position to also help those in need." He offered.
