COURT MANDATES NDLEA TO PAY BABASUWE WITHIN 21 DAYS

It isn’t over until it is over. A Lagos High Court sitting in Ikeja, on Friday March 2nd 2012 ordered the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) to compensate popular actor Babasuwe the sum of N25 million within 21 days.

Though the NDLEA had on February 8, applied to the court for an order of Stay of Execution on its judgment delivered on November 24, 2011 but Justice Yetunde Idowu who had been handling the case since lastyear insisted that the NDLEA is yet to show why it cannot afford the judgement debt or how it would disrupt its operations.
“What is brought is a mere piece of paper that did not show any details of spending and expenditure.” She added.

Her verdict went thus; “I grant a conditional Stay of Execution. The N25 million judgment debt should be paid to the Chief Registrar of the Lagos High Court, who will in turn pay it into an interest-yielding account of a bank that both parties choose.
The money should be paid within 21 days from today,” She declared.

OSAZE ODEMWINGIE NAMED ENGLISH PREMIERSHIP PLAYER OF THE MONTH OF FEBRUARY

Nigeria International, Osaze Odemwingie has been named the English Premiership Player of the month of february.
The West Brom striker is winning the award for the 3rd time as he picked them April and september last year.
His performance so far has been impressive, with five goals including a hat trick in his last two games and hopefully there are many more to come.

ACE COMEDIAN TEJU BABYFACE PROPOSES TO MODEL GIRLFRIEND

Asides 2face’s (dramatic) engagement to her longtime girlfriend, another star who also proposed to his girlfriend on Valentine’s day is ace comedian Teju Oyelakin also known as Teju Babyface but his was on  a low key.
The girl; Tobi Banjoko is an undergraduate of Lagos State University and a successful model.

Guess how he proposed?
Teju called Tobi on Valentine’s Day to meet him at the Southern Sun hotel, Ikoyi Lagos. As she entered one of the rooms, she saw a bed decorated with ‘I love ýou’ roses and of course our big man spilled the question.
Confirming the news, Tobi said, ‘Yes it’s true. I feel excited. He likes what I do, I like what he does, and we understand ourselves perfectly’.
Tobi won the Lagos Carnival beauty pageant in 2010 and also represented Ondo State at the 2011 Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria (MBGN) beauty pageant where she emerged Miss Photogenic.

Awww! This girl is fine sha. More importantly she has balanced the equation.

FANS OF CANADIAN SINGER, JUSTIN BIEBER BREAK SOCIAL MEDIA RECORD.

Fans of Canadian Rn B singer, Justin Bieber have helped him to break the Guinness World Records mark for most social media messages sent in a 24-hour period.
Though Justin was busying rallying round them to donate to charity for his 18th birthday, the fans via the twitter social network reached 214,900 mentions (tweets and re-tweets) thus breaking the previous record of 209,771 mentions set by the Beat Cancer Everywhere campaign in 2009.
Bieber’s fan base is put at 17.8million on twitter and 40.8million on Facebook.
The Guinness Book of Records however is yet to verify the result.

TARGET PULLS OFF WHITNEY HOUSTON'S MOCK GREETING CARD

An America-based giant supermarket named Target have been forced to withdraw a mock greeting card that made fun of the late singer’s relationship with ex husband, Bobby Brown.
Though the cards were made prior to the pop singer’s death, the retailers were left with no other option than to pull of the cards after receiving numerous complaints from customers.
The card reads thus: “Next time you think of dating the bad boy, consider Whitney Houston.”
A representative defended, “The card was in our stores prior to Ms. Houston’s death. As soon as this was brought to our attention, we began the process of removing the card from all applicable stores.”

Good decision.

This is great love! The first picture is the most hilarious! Cos, on a good day, the ‘carrying’ is supposed to be the other way round (according to yoruba culture) but because of circumstances ‘beyond her control’ she opted to carry her husband.

These pictures represent scenes from Ronke Ojo’s upcoming movie, ‘Obaomo’. The movie stars Ayo Adesanya, Adebayo Tijani also called Sanyeri and others.
Ronke Ojo and Ayo Adesanya were twin sisters in the movie.

SCOTT PARKER TAGGED ENGLAND PLAYER OF THE YEAR

31year-old Tottenham midfielder Scott Parker after votes by fans have been named England player of the year.
This honour is coming a year that he participated in seven of England’s nine games.
England’s interim Manager, Stuart Pearce has handed the captaincy to the midfielder who culled 17% of the 15,000 votes cast. Joe Hart came second and Ashley Young was third. Speaking on the honour, he revealed that his Denmark (Copenhagen) game which took place about a year ago marked a turning point in his career.
“It ended up being a great game for me. From there I played a lot more games. It was a very exciting year for me internationally and I’m looking forward to more action.
“It’s a proud moment every time I pull on the England shirt. It’s something I’ve always wanted to do, whenever I was playing outside, whenever I was playing at the park with my mates it was always England you try to emulate and try to be.” He affirmed.

TONTO DIKE CRIES OUT, "I DIDN'T CAUSE A NOLLYWOOD COUPLE'S SEPERATION"

 

Just got this information from a reliable source.
Nollywood actress, Tonto Dike has debunked the story posted in the current edition of Top Enquirer magazine that she caused the seperation of a Nollywood Couple Doris Simeon and Daniel Ademinokan.
Tonto expressed her disappointment and added that it the writer was being unprofessional as she wasn’t contacted for her own side of the story.
According to her, she has been busy in Owerri, Asaba and Enugu since january and was at no point in and out of abuja this year.
She also revealed that she met Daniel Ademinokan once and that was on the set of Rukky Sanda’s movie.
She however appealed that she doesn’t want to be dragged into uncomplimentary issues.
