TITANIC THEME SONG: CELINE DION REPLIES KATE WINSLET

If you ask me, Celine Dion's 'My heart will go on' as the theme song of epic movie Titanic wasn't a bad idea, and most people see the soundtrack as being perfect or fantastic for the movie but Kate Winslet, the actress who played the lead role in the movie begs to differ.

The 44-year-old actress confides in MTV, 'I feel like throwing up when I hear

it. No, I shouldn't say that. No, actually, I do feel like throwing up. 'I wish I could say, "Oh listen, everybody! It's the Celine

Dion song!" But I don't. 'I just have to sit there, you know, kind of straight-faced

with a massive internal eye roll.'

Different strokes for different folks you say!

During an interview, French-Canadian singer Celine Dion didn't really feel offended by the pretty actress' remarks, she claims she understands where Kate is coming from,

"I'm glad she was not the one singing it.' she admitted.

The song/movie in question helped the two stars boost their careers, on Celine Dion's side the song did not only spend 20 weeks in the UK-charts but was also of the best-selling singles of all time.

As for Kate, apparently the film made her a Household name.

"I'm fortunate enough to get to choose the roles I play these days, largely due to the success of Titanic actually, and so I do like choosing things that are risky and a little bit unexpected. It was really Titanic that provided that creative freedom for me" she stated.

Personally each time I hear that song, it takes me down Titanic lane.

POEM: RIP DANA VICTIMS

Happily, they mounted

the beautiful iron bird

switching jeers,

awaiting their decent

into warm hands

of family and friends

smoke, fire, noise

was next

over seven scores bodies

burning before us

we couldnt save,

we shared gory tales

the young girl,

that old man

that was my neighbour

all sank

in one soiled night

our loved ones depart

drilling a wide abyss in the heart

Assured us a pleasant return

Now they've sent thousands mourn

Where are the effervescent guys we see?

The men who settle the fees?

They are harbouring the bossom of the dead

Where

Only the calm can tread

My country is dark

Our people pained

What have we done?

Where have we failed?

Who except God our voices raise

Deliver us from daily plagues

Yes, people die everyday

Not this we pray

Let the old die well

The young grow in age

We've stopped weeping

Through with sleepless nights and rolling

Over between us & overdose barbiturates

We've managed to extricate

It is well with my country!

May their souls find repose…

May the Lord comfort their families&give them fortitude to bear these irreplaceable losses! Amen!

‘LOVE ME JEJE’ CROONER, SEYI SODIMU RETURNS WITH GBEDU

After a long time break from the music industry, King of Afro-Soul music and Love Me Jeje crooner, Seyi Sodimu is back. The hefty musician's returns with a very captivating single and one of the hottest singles of the year, 'Gbedu'

The musician who garnered fame after seducing the audience with alluring hits like Love Me Jeje, Money Man, Sophisticated woman, featuring Jamaican Superstar, Wayne Wonder and Dying amongst others sometime ago is poised to take his music to an all-new height.

Seyi's latest song, Gbedu, produced under Sax records is an Afrocentric style of music blended with hiphop soul, it is also the leading single from his forthcoming album which should be released this year. The song does not only command a compulsive listen, it will also whet the appetite of music lovers particularly his stalwarts who had yearned for more of his easy-on-the-ear songs.
