Some time ago, last week or so, there was this news linking Nollywood actor Jim Iyke and a certain Chantelle Nkechi Benson, a UK-based lawyer. An 11 year-old son is allegedly the product of the affair which they had as far back as when the former was an undergraduate.

The actor released a statement via his publicist, Mitch Ngaman to clear the air

"Jim Iyke is aware of the viral story currently making the headlines and wishes to state that this is not the first time that issues of this nature have arisen. Friends and fans who follow his activities closely will recall a number of occasions in the past when baseless claims of paternity and even marriage were made.

"Nonetheless, as a responsible man, he is always disposed to verify any such development(s) brought to his attention and when any satisfactory outcome has been ascertained, the general public will be duly informed without ambiguity. The only specifics at the present time is that at the age of 22yrs-23yrs old he dated for a brief period the lady at the center of the story who subsequently left Nigeria for the UK.

"There had been no contact between them ever since and by implication no linkling of the existence of a living product of that encounter. Since this is more about an innocent child than the star himself we advise caution and respect for privacy.''

Multiple Grammy and Brit award-winner, Adele Adkins and her 38 year-old charity worker boyfriend Simon Konecki are now parents to a beautiful boy (even though I havn't seen the picture, he should be beautiful).

The 24 year-old Someone Like You singer who delivered the baby on friday announced her pregnancy 4 months ago.

"I'm delighted to announce that Simon and I are expecting our first child together. I wanted you to hear the news direct from me, obviously we're over the moon and very excited but please respect our privacy at this precious time. Yours always, Adele xx."

The couple confirmed their relationship in January.

The third edition of the Best of Nollywood Awards will hold on Sunday November 11th 2011 and will be anchored by Nollywood star Nonso Diobi and former Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria, Sylvia Nduka.

Asides the fact that many awards will be rolled out to deserving artistes, a session of the event will be dedicated to honour three key stakeholders in the Nigerian film industry; namely veteran actor Richard Mofe Damijo, ace cinematographer Tunde Kelani and prolific producer/scriptwriter/director, Emem Isong .

According to Miss Onye, Brand Manager, Best of Nollywood Awards, BON has decided to celebrate these duo for their contribution to the development of Nollywood and for helping many to achieve their dreams by providing inspiration and assistance for years .

Out of all the categories open to voting, the Revelation of the year is the most competitive, it features Amanda Ebeye, Seyi Ashekun, Moyo Lawal, Ifeanyi kalu, Tunde owokoniran and Kc Ejelonu.
