FUNKE AKINDELE JOINS BILL GATES, JACKIE CHAN OTHERS AS AMBASSADOR FOR POLIO ERADICATION CAMPAIGN

Funke akindele is turning the volume high on the endorsement business. The award-winning actress has joined the likes of Bill Gates, Nobel Peace laureate Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu, Jackie Chan and Gangnam style singer PSY as ambassador for polio eradication- campaign making it her 7th endorsement deal.

She will be participating in Rotary's "This Close" public awareness campaign for anti-polio drive. The media unveiling will come up on Tuesday 24th October, 2013 as part of the activities lined up to mark the world polio day.

The Jenifa star confirmed the appointment in a statement, "I feel so honoured to be part of a charitable cause like this. I accepted this appointment because polio kills or paralyzes children and Rotary is committed to ending this terrible disease worldwide.

She continued, "I also learned that the world has never been so close to eradication of polio since the mid 80's thanks to the vigorous efforts of Rotary International and its partners."

MTN PROJECT FAME 5 RUNNER-UP, ADETOUN ADEKOYA SURVIVES FATAL ACCIDENT

MTN Project Fame 5 runner up, Adetoun Adekoya has every reason to thank God this moment. The talented songstress survived a ghastly accident around Ilesha, Osun State few hours ago.

The Toyota Corolla car she won after the competition rammed into a trailer while on her way to a church programme. The Waka Queen got out safely with no injuries. "Thank God for me, it could have been worse". She stated.

IYANYA&ICE PRINCE STAR IN SHUGA

Award-winning Nigerian artistes; Iyanya and Iceprince will be starring in MTV's drama series, Shuga'. Iyanya will be making his debut in the film, Ice Prince on the other hand once starred in Yvonne Nelson's movie so it should be his second appearance in a movie.

The duo will be visiting Badoo nightclub, a regular hangout owned by Tiwa Savage, who's playing the role of Sade in the series.

Directed by Biyi Bandele; the brain behind Half of a Yellow Sun movie. Other members of for the cast include Chris Attoh, Maria Okanrende, Sharon Ezeamaka, James Egbuson, Kachi Nnochiri, Olumide Oworu, Ugbeye Owumi, Sani Mu'azu, Bikiya Graham-Douglas, KC Ejelonu to mention a few.
