In the spirit of Valentine, The Movie Ambassadors; a synergy of all young filmmakers in the Nigeria Movie Industry had a get-together to announce their emergence and celebrate love, peace and oneness. The event which took place on saturday, 15th February 2014, at the Ember Creek Ikoyi was anchored by Kemi Afolabi and Dele Fagboyo.
The venue was filled with actors and movie marketers, all of who were dressed in white and red. Roll call of thespians at the event include, Yomi Fabiyi, Saheed Balogun, Gabriel Afolayan, Eniola Olaniyan, Bukola Awoyemi (Arugba), Kunle Afod, Tayo Odueke (Sikiratu Sindodo), Ibrahim Chattah, Toyosi Adesanya to mention a few.
 
The Movie Ambassadors is a gathering of aspiring young film makers whose vision is to revolutionise the movie industry while advocating for celebration and proper remuneration of elders and veterans in the industry. The body have had few general meetings in Protea Hotel, GRA.
According to Yomi Fabiyi, Interim publicity secretary, “Transformation takes time, and all young film makers are automatic members, it is about everybody, no segregation. We will sponsor bill with government that will improve the industry, all we need is unity“

History of crossfires between Wenger and Mourinho.

 
Still on the Mourinho and Wenger matter. So, here’s a history of crossfires between the two coaches. And from the look of things both Managers are not ironing out their creases anytime soon.


August 2005
Wenger accuses Mourinho of being ultra-defensive. “I know we live in a world where we have only winners and losers, but once a sport encourages teams who refuse to take the initiative, the sport is in danger.”


October 2005
Jose does not take insults lying low, “Wenger has a real problem with us and I think he is what you call in England a voyeur. He is someone who likes to watch other people. There are some guys who, when they are at home, have this big telescope to look into the homes of other people and see what is happening. Wenger must be one of them – it is a sickness.”


November 2005
Arsene lashes out at the Portuguese. “He’s out of order, disconnected with reality and disrespectful. When you give success to stupid people, it makes them more stupid sometimes and not more intelligent.”

Mourinho revisits old rivalries. “At Stamford Bridge, we have a file of quotes from Mr Wenger about Chelsea football club in the last 12 months – it is not a file of five pages. It is a file of 120 pages.”

Wenger accuses Mourinho of being a chequebook manager. “If you would like to compare every manager you give each one the same amount of resources and say ‘you have that for five years’. After five years you see who has done the most.”

Mourinho despite being sacked by Chelsea still finds time to continue the tirade, “The English like statistics a lot. Do they know that Arsene Wenger has only 50 per cent of wins in the English league?”

December 2013

Mourinho accuses Arsenal players of having a “tradition of crying”. “You know, they like to cry. That’s tradition. But I prefer to say, and I was telling it to the fourth official, that English people – Frank Lampard, for example – would never provoke a situation like that.”

Wenger airs his view about Mourinho selling Juan Mata to Manchester United.
“Chelsea have already played twice against Man United, they could have sold him last week. I think if you want to respect the fairness for everybody, this should not happen.”

Jose overlooks Arsene’s complaint and insists the fixture is in Arsenal’s favour.
“Wenger complaining is normal because he always does. Normally he should be happy that Chelsea sold a player like Juan Mata, but this is a little bit his nature. I think what is not fair is that his team always has the best days to play.”
February 2014

Arsene Wenger’s response after Mourinho downplayed Chelsea’s chances of winning the title. “It is very open, only Chelsea can lose it now because they are in front and all the other teams can win it. I’ve always said many teams are in it and it will be very tight until the end.”

The acidic Mourinho reply the world is still talking about, “He is a specialist in failure. I’m not, If supposedly he is right and I’m afraid to fail, it’s because I haven’t failed many times. Maybe he’s right. Maybe I’m not used to failing. The reality is he is a specialist. Eight years without a piece of silverware, that’s failure. If I do that at Chelsea, eight years, I leave London and I don’t come back.”

Arsene is calm this time around but still drives his point home. “I won’t comment on silly disrespectful remarks, I never spoke about him in my press conferences and I won’t start. It’s more embarrassing for Chelsea than for me.”

BAFTA Awards: Chiwetel Ejiofor wins Best Actor for '12 Years A Slave'. (Full list of winners)

 
All eyes were on two rave of the moment actors to clinch awards in the the 2014 BAFTA Awards. Nigerian-British actor,Chiwetel Ejiofor and Kenyan actress, Lupita Nyong’o. While the former picked the Best Actor award for his role in the classic movie, ’12 years a slave, sadly, Lupita lost the Best Supporting Actress gong to Jennifer Lawrence (American Hustle). 12 years a slave also won the Best picture category.

The last has certainly not been heard of the war of words between Chelsea’s Jose Mourinho and Arsenal coach, Arsene Wenger. Here’s the 64 year-old’s reply to Mourinho’s “Failure Specialist’ comment which trended on friday.
“I won’t comment on silly disrespectful remarks, I never spoke about him in my press conferences and I won’t start. It’s more embarrassing for Chelsea than for me.’

Super Eagles' get unique jersey for 2014 World Cup. Take a look!

Super Eagles get a totally unique jersey for the 2014 World Cup tournament. The jersey is a departure from the regular green jersey to an exciting, bold, striking and iconic kit. Designed by sports wear giant, Addidas, the kit which was unveiled on friday, February 14th, 2014 would be launched against Mexico on March 5 in Atlanta. Another unique design on the kit is the addition of a bridge-like band across the shoulders; the name and number parts are also draped in red.
According to NFF President, Aminu Maigari, “We are very proud to once again partner with adidas to produce a home jersey that reflects youth, spontaneity and freshness. It will not only appeal to the Super Eagles but their fans across the globe. We are delighted with the design as it reflects innovation yet incorporating an element of fun. We are happy though that while the jersey has a new look, it’s green side panels tie the new kit to its’ historic darker green tradition.”

Here’s the veteran actor’s reaction Pastor Chris Okotie’s verdict that all Catholics would go to hell because they don’t believe in Jesus, and that the Pope is an anti-Christ. He made this point during an interview session with a Nigerian Tribune reporter.
“He is entitled to his opinion. He has a right to say whatever he likes and he is using that right. Constitutionally, he is entitled to it. Stupidity is what we all have in common as human beings, but some people insist that improving it is their entitlement. So, you expect Pete Edochie and other Catholics to be angry? No, I won’t. I knew Chris some years back; he was fond of me when he was still in school. When I was still a broadcaster, a Hausa man presented him with a car and he came and showed it to me. Jose Mourinho is the first person in Britain to get the new Jaguar F-Type car.

Chelsea boss, Jose Mourinho has been trending for the past 24 hours for “reasons best known to us”; the ‘failure specialist’ jibe at Arsenal’s Arsene Wenger lingers on, anyways that’s not why we are here. Last night, the Portuguese attended the official UK unveiling of the The Jaguar F-Type Coupe car at the Canary Wharf, London and known or unknown to many,  as  a Jaguar ambassador, he is privileged to be the first person in Britain to get the ride which is valued at £85,000.
When asked what he thought of the toy, Mourinho replied, “It drives like a great player because it does what I want it to do. I made my players a bit jealous because I took the car to the training ground. It was a good feeling. I love to drive it.”

Waka Queen legend Salawa Abeni and ace fuji musician, Kollinton Ayinla are now grandparents. Their first daughter, Aminat Okiki Ilori (Candy) and CEO of Candiva Signature (an entertainment outfit) put to bed a beautiful baby boy on Sunday, 9th February in Paris.
Though she’s due to be back in the country at the end of the month, Salawa Abeni will be hosting friends and family to the naming ceremony tomorrow. Candy got engaged to her businessman fiance, Bashir Omotayo last year July.

“I am glad to announce the arrival of a new baby which i described as” God’s valentine gift” through my beautiful wife, Oyebanke Queen Makinde few hours ago at Baylor Medical centre Irving, Texas USA, indication is dat the baby would be named after Osun State First Lady, the baby came few hours shortly after my arrival in USA as i was physically present in the labour room to boost my wife morale, we are both full of joy as we give praises to Allah and thanking friends, family and colleagues who keeps praying for our success.
