Veteran socialite, Chief Dr Bayo Kuku is dead.

Eminent businessman and one of the wealthiest men in Nigeria, Chief Dr Bayo Kuku is dead. The Ogbeni Oja of Ijebuland died this morning after a long time battle with an undisclosed illness.
He will be laid to rest tomorrow, March 6,2015 at Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State. He was aged 84.

Cristiano Ronaldo named the world's wealthiest footballer. See Goal Rich list 2015.

Cristiano Ronaldo has for the second time cemented his status as the world’s wealthiest current footballer, according to the Goal Rich List 2015.  His  net worth- is €210m.
The Rich List, compiled by Goal.com, the world’s largest digital football brand, sees the Real Madrid superstar beat off the challenge from Barcelona rival Lionel Messi, with Ronaldo’s estimated wealth now running at €210 million.
It is a further indicator to Ronaldo’s current standing in the game, having last season won the Champions League, a success that ultimately saw him crowned 2014 Ballon d’Or winner.
While Messi is second on the Rich List, the gap between him and Ronaldo has increased slightly over the past year, though both remain firmly ahead of the pack, with another La Liga star, Barcelona’s Neymar, the best of the rest in third place having been listed sixth just 12 months ago.
The major European leagues are well represented, though there is also a significant contingent from those who are forging new careers in the USA, led by Brazilian superstar Kaka.
Though still playing at the highest level for club and country, Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon drops out of the Rich List Top 10, as does Arsenal great Thierry Henry having announced his retirement from the game and excluding himself from consideration.
Replacing them in the 2015 table are: Real Madrid legend Raul, now with New York Cosmos appears at eight in the Rich List, while Chelsea great Frank Lampard, currently with English champions Manchester City but who will move to New York City at the end of this season, is placed at No10.
The Goal Rich List is collated by a team of analysts and takes into account all streams of revenue for active footballers over the course of their careers. 
Only current professionals are eligible with the earnings of more than 200 contenders assessed before Goal’s experts finalised on their selection. 
Commenting on the announcement of the Goal Rich List 2015, Graham Shaw, Editorial Director of Goal.com, said; “Ronaldo and Messi are the two best footballers in the world currently and their fortunes now put them up with the top names in cinema and music. These levels are entirely warranted because these players are global entertainers.

“This year’s comprehensive list will again provide real talking points for Goal’s userbase of football followers worldwide.”

Gareth Bale reveals the worst things about playing for Real Madrid.

Real Madrid star, Gareth Bale may be loving life in Spain but there are certain things he’s not enjoying.
The first is being booed by his teammates in training and the sight of Spanish spiders.
The ex Tottenham player opened up in an interview with Four Four Two Magazine.

“The one thing you don’t want is to be on the end of is a nutmeg. Whenever someone gets nutmegged, we’re all jumping and joking around.

AIT replies Tinubu's lawsuit threat, demands apology&N100 billion In damages.

‎It’s (un) officially the season of lawsuits in Nigeria. The latest plaintiff being renowned media outfit, Daar Communications, owners of African Independent Television (AIT) and defendant, ex Governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The lawsuit is coming few days after the APC chieftain threatened to sue DAAR Communications in tune of N200bn for damages for airing a documentary titled  “Unmasking the real Tinubu”.
AIT has also demanded apology&N100 billion In damages. 
“Daar Communications Plc has reacted and rejected in their entirety the demands of Tunji Abayomi and co on behalf of Bola Tinubu over a documentary titled “Unmasking The Real Tinubu” transmitted on African Independent Television, AIT, according to a publication on its website.
The demands, which Mike Ozekhome’s chambers describe as laughable, include the stoppage of further transmission of the alleged defamatory documentary, failure which Daar communications will be made to pay twenty billion Naira representing damages.
In its reaction, Mike Ozekhome’s chambers on behalf of DAAR communications declares that AIT, in transmitting the documentary was only carrying out its constitutional responsibility to uphold the fundamental objectives of the constitution.

It states further that the documentary merely stated that Bola Tinubu generally breached various portions of the Nigerian constitution.

DAAR communications plc is therefore demanding a complete withdrawal of the letter under reference, which must be given wide publicity as that accorded the letter from the chambers of Tunji Abayomi.

‎
The media company demands an apology to be published in at least four leading national newspapers and four television stations, which must include NTA, Channels and AIT.

The sum of one hundred billion Naira representing aggravated, punitive and exemplary damages for the irreparable injury inflicted on AIT is also being demanded.‎”

5 Ways To Ruin A Party.

‎If you are a party staple and you derive so much joy in doing any of these, it’s important to note that it freaks some hosts out. Who would give you a pat at the back for being a nuisance after investing so much time, resources, money in such events? These are some of the things that drive them bonkers.

1. Show Up With A Date Who Wasn’t Invited
If you weren’t allotted a plus-one, there’s probably a reason. Maybe the host wanted to only invite close friends and family to keep the wedding intimate; maybe the space is small; or maybe there were budget restraints (just one extra guest can mean up to N3000 or even more depending on catering costs. 
2. Incessantly Take Photos
Hey folks, get off your phone! The host presumably spent countless hours pouring over party details to create an event that he/her friends and family would truly enjoy. Besides, the host hired a photographer, so leave it up to the pros and enjoy yourself. 
3. Hit On The Cake
Believe it or not, guests do this mistakenly… cakes are expensive these days and should only be handled by the caterer and an usher.
4.  Drink Too Much
Your friend’s party is just that — Know your limit and don’t go over it. Making a fool of yourself in front of everyone, falling all over the place or leaving the party early because you couldn’t handle your liquor isn’t the way you want your best friend’s new wife to remember you. Is it?
5. Hit On The Waiters
We get to see a lot of waiters being hit and it could be really embarrassing.

"Re-employ Keshi and I"ll resign"-NFF official.

NFF Technical and Development Committee member, Paul Bassey has joined the increasing list of football stakeholders in the country who believe Stephen Keshi isn’t the right man for the Super Eagles.
‎Infact, the CAF media team member has vowed to quit his position if the ex- coach is being re-employed.

“I feel pained that we are still talking about whether to hire or not to hire Keshi. As for me, I”ve decided that the day they announce Keshi as coach, I’ll relinquish my job as a member of the Technical Committee.”

The Sports Journalist continued, ‘I worked with Keshi for four years and know that he has nothing to offer the Eagles as a coach. We need to move our football forward and offer a contract to somebody who will breathe fresh air and bring back Nigeria to the front row of African football and the world. 

Keshi cannot do this. He knows his limitations but has decided to hold up the same game that gave him fame and fortune in Nigeria. We cannot continue to be moving round in circles with one man on the centre as if without him nothing good can happen to our football. If they appoint him today, I’ll throw in my towel. That is is my opinion and I wish them well.”

No big deal in boarding a train with ordinary people.- Mercy Johnson.

Some Nigerians have all shades of issues. Since when did it become totally WRONG for a celebrity to use public forms of transport? How does it amount to watering down his/her brand? Even high-profile figures in foreign countries do.
Actress Mercy Johnson who came under fire for doing so has penned her reaction. ‎

“My picture and that of my daughter, Purity in a Lagos train has surfaced online and quite a number of people have asked me what I was doing in a train and in Lagos for that matter; not Paris or London.

I was around Iddo at Ebute Metta when my Range Rover developed a mechanical fault and I had to make a very important appointment in Ikeja regardless of the usual traffic congestion in Lagos. 


Luckily, a member of my management team was around, he suggested a train ride and we were in Ikeja in less than 30 minutes but that is not the crux of this statement.

Like I mentioned earlier, I have had to answer questions in private and public as to why I would board a train because trains in Nigeria are considered a means of transportation for the ordinary and not-so-rich people. 


A friend called and said I just devalued my brand by being on the train with ordinary people.  I couldn’t help but laugh. Are we extra ordinary people because we are celebrities?

In as much as I understand the concept of branding, packaging and exclusiveness, I will never trade the experience to sit, interact and feel the pulse of so-called ordinary people.

By the way, I am part of the ordinary people. I grew up as an ordinary person among ordinary people. Why would I avoid them now? Would that be because I am now famous?


 Without these ordinary people, how would I have been famous in the first place?  Without the so called ordinary people, where would Nigeria’s growing population of so-called well packaged celebrities be today?

For the purpose of clarification, I was not on that train due to lack of money to get a well packaged cab or to get somebody to bring another car from the house but,  my car developed an unforeseen fault and I needed a fast , reliable and convenient alternative immediately as there was urgent business to be attended to and I respect time a lot.

The train was available where I was; most importantly, I did not want to turn down the opportunity to be with the people who would ordinarily not have access to me so I grabbed the opportunity with both hands and here we are.

I want to thank my co-passengers, officials of the train for treating me with absolute respect and courtesy, I am indeed, very grateful.‎

The Plot Thickens! Femi Fani-Kayode sues APC, Spokesman for N5bn

Can we all agree that the 2015 elections is the most dramatic in Nigerian history?
Director of Media and Publicity of the Peoples‎ Democratic Party, PDP, Campaign Organisation, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode is also suing the All Progressives Congress, APC and its spokesman, Lai Mohammed for derogatory statements  made against his personality.

Excerpts from the letter addressed to Lai Mohammed by Fani-
Kayode’s lawyer, Mr Whyteman Prekunomaa.

“We are solicitors to Chief Femi Fani — Kayode (hereinafter refereed to as Our Client). We write you pursuant to ‎our Client’s instruction in respect of a publication on Tuesday, the 3rd day of March, 2015 on Page 6 of Nation Newspaper wherein you made a statement and same was printed with the above caption, and hereunder reproduced as follows:

‎Contrary to information being peddled by the Director of
Media and Publicity of the Jonathan campaign Organisation . Femi FaniKayode the All Progressives Congress (A PC) has said the party does not wish him any ill-health, “even though it is seriously concerned about
his mental state.”

“You (Lai Mohammed) are also to enter into negotiation for damages as we have firm instructions to claim five billion naira damages against you. Take notice, therefore, that it will amount to a specious gamble on your part, if you treat this letter with levity.”

I Can Die For PDP: Toyin Aimakhu reacts to backlash

Actress Toyin Aimakhu has reacted to negative comments targeted at her after proclaiming that she can die for her favourite party, PDP few days ago.
The fair-skinned thespian made the statement during President Goodluck Jonathan’s meeting with some 5,000 youths on March1st, 2015 at the Eko Hotels&Suites, Lagos.
 In a press statement released today,Toyin who was the compere of the event tagged “Meet The President” stated that she was only being sarcastic that it is pathetic for anyone to take her word seriously.

“Our country has given its citizens the right to freedom of speech and right to vote and be voted for, I’m most definitely not an exception. As of 1999, Nigeria has about 29 political parties, allowing every citizen to choose at their own free will. It is then left to us not to undermine the decision or choices of others as it is loathsome. 

We live in a world where people take pleasure in bringing other people down. I feel obliged to address the matter of me dying for the PDP. 
Firstly, no one is dying for anyone and the last time I checked only Jesus had died for us with no strings attached or money promised to his family when he’s gone. He died to save us all. Having pointed that out, I will like to say, I will not , in any way, for no reason whatsoever, die for a person or a political party. 
Secondly, I personally feel it is pathetic for anyone to take my word literally when it was simply a joke. As a successful Nollywood actress, it is not unusual for people in my line of work to use the phrase ‘ha baba, walai mo love yin gaan mo le ku fun yin ni sir’ with smiles on their faces. 
This was me, just doing my job as a host of the event, trying to be funny, which by the way, worked. It is absurd to take my word out of context. 
Furthermore, my choices, should however in no way be a channel for condemnation. Celebrities and public figures, just like every other people, are allowed to campaign, vote and support whomever and however we please. 
As many great political parties we have, we cannot vote for them all. It is a one man, one vote society. I love everyone as best as I can, most especially my fans ,make your choice, respect the choice of others, let it be, and most especially, do not allow the choice of others affect yours.

In conclusion, let’s try to help others grow and support them. Don’t let the success of others make you feel resentment against them or envious, simply learn from them and strive to do better. 
I wish everyone safe, free and fair election.” She wrote.
