On staying fit.
I start at 6 a.m. every morning in the gym before I run; you get muscles from explosive training. The power of my runs comes from doing weight training and the speed comes from track running. Training with competitors does not get to me because I focus on myself. During the race, I don’t even notice if my training partner is in the race, but I don’t underestimate anyone. As long as you are on the starting line, you are a competitor.
King Sunny Ade floats radio station
Veteran Juju musician, King Sunny has wrapped up plans to float a radio station in Ondo State.
Named M&C (Music & Culture) FM, the seasoned singer reportedly applied for the license in 2006 under the ex-president Olusegun Obasanjo administration.
On why it took almost a decade to get the regulatory approval, KSA said: “Whatever is worth doing is worth doing well. The NBC has its operational standard, so do I. I deliberately took time off to carefully select a team of loyal partners who share the same vision on what a music station should be. Don’t forget also that this will be the first radio station in Nigeria that will be solely devoted to promoting our culture and our music.”
The station is expected to begin transmission in the coming months.

One month after his switch to Arsenal Petr Cech wins 3 trophies in 3 games
Wolfsburg deny Bayern the German Super Cup
Wolfsburg put up an intriguing performance to win the German Super Cup on penalties at the expense of Bayern Munich. Former Arsenal striker, Nicklas Bendtner was the hero of the night as he grabbed a late equaliser to force penalties [after Arjen Robben had given Bayern the lead] and also scoring the decisive penalty kick that gave Wolfsburg victory.
Bayern had the better of the game, but Wolfsburg wasted some of the better chances before earning a late lifeline and then completing a hat trick of Super Cup defeats for Bayern coach Pep Guardiola.
Wolfsburg were flawless from the spot, including Bendtner, who sent his effort into the top corner to earn last season’s cup winners the trophy.
Arsenal win the community shield
Arsenal triumphed over Chelsea to win the community shield at Wembley in front of thousands of elated supporters. Alex-Oxlade Chamberlain’s 24th minute stunning strike gave Wenger his first victory over rival, Jose Mourinho. A convincing Arsenal side went on to miss more clear chances on goal but held on to their 1goal lead to win the preseason trophy.
Defender Per Mertesacker felt the victory over their title rivals shows the quality of squad that is set to start the season at the Emirates Stadium. “It’s another win – we have had a decent pre-season so far,” said the German. “It is a little title for us that keeps our confidence high, so it’s great for us,” he said.
Di Maria set to undergo medical as clubs agree fee
Manchester United midfielder, Angel Di Maria is set to undergo medical at PSG as both clubs agree on a fee of £44.5M. The player has been making headlines in transfer news after showing clear indications that he wants to leave Manchester United.
Di Maria failed to reunite with his teammates at the end of his Copa America break and went to an unknown location according to manager of the club, Louis Van Gaal. United will take a significant hit on the £59.1 million that they paid to acquire Di Maria from Real Madrid last summer, but may subsequently intensify efforts to sign Pedro from Barcelona, with Louis van Gaal revealing his admiration for the Spaniard on Sunday.
Di Maria made just 32 appearances in all competitions for United last season, scoring four goals and providing 12 assists.
