Hairline cracking rules Wilshere out for several weeks

Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has been ruled out for several weeks due to a hairline crack to his left fibula he suffered while training for the community shield game with Chelsea.
Manager of the club,  Arsene Wenger affirmed that the 23-year would be out for several weeks in a statement on the club’s website.

“The information you have heard about Jack Wilshere is right,” Wenger told Arsenal’s official website. “I had a bad surprise because it is a hairline crack in his fibula that makes him a few weeks out. “There is minimal damage apart from the bone damage — there is no damage at all apart from that. It was a collision in training and it was all completely accidental.”
The midfielder missed a large part of last season after suffering ankle ligament damage and then undergoing minor surgery to remove some studs on the pins in the bone. Wilshere, who made 14 Premier League appearances in 2014-15, is now set to miss the beginning to the Gunners’ season, which starts on Sunday at home to West Ham.
He could also be absent for England’s forthcoming Euro 2016 qualifiers against San Marino and Switzerland on Sept. 5 and Sept. 8 respectively.

Tips to protect yourself from the deadly MERS virus

 

Are you avoiding people in your surroundings with that hacking cough, cold, or flu? Do you draw your hand back from every doorknob? From a few sniffles to a chesty cough, headache and runny nose, any changes to air-conditioned environments, temperature and a population of constant travelers are culprits often slapped with the blame of the commonly known virus known Middle East Respiratory Coronavirus (MERS-CoV), a coronavirus which causes acute respiratory illness in infected patients.
The World Health Organisation (WHO) estimates that approximately 36 percent of patients suffering from the respiratory infection have died, since it was first identified in Saudi Arabia in 2012.
Practitioners across the world are cautioned to look out for symptoms of the virus to stop it from spreading. As there is no available vaccine or specific treatment for MERS, the best way to protect yourself is to maintain personal hygiene. This is one of the reasons why the WHO 1 along with many healthcare authorities in different countries, including the U.S. 2, Canada 3, Saudi Arabia 4, and Australia 5, are placing a heavy emphasis on hand hygiene.
Dr. Ashraf Allam, Regional Vice President, MundipharmaMiddle East and Africa region provides us with tips to protect yourself against MERS infections:
1)  Wash your hands frequently
Wash your hands frequently with antiseptic soap and water. This is particularly important in public toilets, when travelling, in hospital or in restaurants.
2)  Avoid touching your face
Avoid touching your face with your hand to prevent spreading the virus after touching dirty surfaces
3)  Practice proper hygiene at home and in public places: Use a handkerchief
When you sneeze or cough use a handkerchief or tissue to cover your nose or mouth. Dispose of the tissue immediately.
4)  Wear a surgical mask
Wear a surgical mask when visiting people with the illness
5)  Disinfect items in public space
When travelling, carry alcohol-based disinfectant wipes to sanitize your surroundings (overhead compartment latch, seatbelt, in-flight entertainment screen and controls, tray table)
6)  See a doctor
If you come in close contact with someone who has the MERS infection and you have fallen sick with fever, go see your doctor immediately.
Remember the initial symptoms of MERS are similar to the common cold – fever, cough, shortness of breath. As the disease progresses, though, victims may develop pneumonia or kidney failure.
7)  Build up your immune system by making healthy food and beverage choices
Replace immune-damaging beverages like alcohol, sodas (regular and diet), and energy drinks with plenty of fresh, purified water.
A strong immune system can protect you against so many common ailments.

Manchester United agree a deal with Barca over Pedro

English side,  Manchester United have reached an agreement with European Champions, FC Barcelona over the signing of Pedro Rodriguez. The two sides have settled on a transfer fee of £18.1million (€26m) initially, with a potential further £4.2m (€6m) to be paid in variable bonuses.
Barcelona are, however, keen to retain the player until after next week’s Uefa Super Cup tie with Europa League winners Sevilla in the traditional season curtain-raiser in Tbilisi on Tuesday.
The Spain international signed a new four-year deal in June, with the club announcing publicly that his €150m release clause remained in effect. However, a gentlemen’s agreement was made allowing the player to leave for a lower fee should the buying club suit both parties.

While Pedro has yet to agree personal terms with United, he is keen on a switch which would allow him greater playing time than he has experienced since Luis Suarez’s arrival at the Camp Nou last summer. United boss Louis van Gaal admitted recently that the 28-year-old is just the type of player his team has been lacking.

Alvaro Morata ruled out for a month

Serie A champions, Juventus have been hit with another injury blow as Alvaro Morata has been sidelined for a month owing calf injury. The Spain international had been set to start Saturday’s Supercoppa Italiana clash with Lazio in China but tore a calf muscle in training on Tuesday.
Consequently, Morata will now miss Juve’s Serie A opener against Udinese on August 23, as well as the trip to the Stadio Olimpico the following weekend to take on Scudetto rivals Roma.
“Alvaro Morata will be sidelined for up to 30 days after suffering a torn soleus muscle in his left calf,” read a statement released on Juve’s official website.
“Having departed the work-out early, the striker underwent tests today in Shanghai to reveal the full extent of the damage.”
The news of Morata’s injury is coming days after new signing, Sami Khedira was also sidelined for two months after picking up an hamstring injury.

Nathaniel Clyne tips Liverpool for EPL title

Liverpool’s new signing Nathaniel Clyne has tipped Liverpool for the EPL title citing the new addition and quality of the team as the rationale behind it. Liverpool finished sixth last season despite splashing the cash on a number of players in a bid to improve the quality of the team. Last season’s disappointing performance came on the heel of an impressive second-place finish the season before it and many has questioned the readiness of the club to go all the way.
But England international full-back Clyne, who moved from Southampton to Anfield for £12.5 million during the off-season, believes the Merseyside club can end their 25-year drought for league success this term.

“Two seasons ago, Liverpool were pushing and nearly won the league, so we’re not too far away and with the additions to the team this year, we are looking to push on again,” Clyne said.

“Hopefully we can push for the title this season.

“You can see with the team and the quality that we have got that we can have a special season.”
Liverpool begin their Premier League campaign at Stoke City on Sunday, having lost 6-1 at the Britannia Stadium on the final day of the 2014-15 campaign.

Edin Dzeko a step closer to completing Roma move

Manchester city striker Edin Dzeko has moved a step closer to joining Italian club, Roma as he has flown to Italy to finalise things. Sources revealed that both clubs have agreed a fee for the switch and it is now subject to a medical and personal agreement.
City boss Manuel Pellegrini admitted during the club’s preseason tour of Australia that Dzeko could leave the club this summer. If Dzeko agrees personal terms and passes his medical he will become is the second City player to move to Serie A this summer after Stevan Jovetic joined Inter Milan on loan earlier this week.
Totti said last month he hopes Roma sign City striker Dzeko while Miralem Pjanic said his Bosnia and Herzegovina teammate “would come running” if given the opportunity to join the Giallorossi.

Di Maria Undergoes Medical at PSG, says he is happy to join the club

Manchester United winger, Angel Di Maria has undergone medical in Doha, Qatar ahead of an imminent move to Paris Saint Germain (PSG). The 27-year-old was given permission to fly to Qatar for talks with PSG officials after United agreed a €63 million (£44.3 million) fee with the French champions for the midfielder.
Di Maria has expressed his delight to join the club and his readiness to help the club with his abilities.
“I am very happy to join PSG. What I know about PSG is that it is a team that won all the possible trophies in France last season,” Di Maria was quoted as saying by BeIN Sports.

“This is very important for the club. I also know that I want to overcome the obstacle that is the quarter-finals of the Champions League. I am going to try to bring the best of my abilities to put myself at the service of this team. We are going to try and go as far as possible in the Champions League.”

United signed Di Maria from Real Madrid for £59.7 million last summer, but after an encouraging start his form dipped drastically and he only started one of the final 10 games of last season.

Ajax dumped out of the Champions League by lowest ranked team

Ajax saw an end to their champions league qualifying campaign after suffering a shocking 5-4 aggregate defeat to Rapid Vienna. Rapid, the lowest-ranked team in the non-champions section of the draw, looked to be on their way out a week ago when they trailed 2-1 at home and had been reduced to 10 men. But they found an equaliser to give them hope for the return leg and produced a fine performance to send Ajax tumbling out.
The Austrian side rushed into a shock two-goal lead before half-time as Robert Beric and Louis Schaub found the back of the net. But Ajax fought back after the break with Arkadiusz Milik reducing the arrears before Nemanja Gudelj brought the tie level in the 75th minute.
Frank de Boer’s men had no sooner finished celebrating before they were fishing the ball out of their own net again when Schaub bagged his second of the game.
That gave Rapid a crucial third away goal, meaning Ajax had to score twice in the final 13 minutes to avoid a premature exit. But they could find no way back into the tie. The result means Sporting Lisbon will now be seeded into the playoff round draw in place of Ajax, alongside Manchester United, Valencia and Bayer Leverkusen. The final seed will be decided after Wednesday’s other qualifiers between Shakhtar Donetsk, CSKA Moscow and Lazio.

He disclosed to the Daily Mirror that, “The reason I wanted to get a life like him is that he is rich, famous and living the life. I’ve met him for a couple of times and I can’t explain such a fantastic person he is. I’ve no idea how much I’ve spent emulating him it’s definitely in the thousands though. He used his time very good for me where we spoke a lot.


“I waited every day at Valdebebas [Real Madrid’s training ground] from 9am to 2pm just to see him. Now, he knows me it means every time I go to Madrid I can meet him, which I am so proud of. Wherever, CR7 goes I’m with him. He even knows it himself. I try to visit him as soon as possible. I’m already planning my next trip which is very soon.”

He added that, “All my friends, my family call me Cristiano Ronaldo. They know my passion and respect it. Some may think I’m crazy, but that’s the way I am. People tell me, ‘be yourself’ but I cannot be myself more than I am now. He’s not just my passion, but he motivates me.”
