The herdsmen from hell | By: Femi Fani-Kayode

If there was ever a time to remember the words of Haile Selassie and speak out against evil this is it. With the abduction of the elder statesman and June 12th struggle hero, Chief Olu Falae, from his home by a group of Fulani herdsmen in south western Nigeria it is time for us to seriously consider the expulsion of all Fulani herdsmen from the southern part of our country.
Anyone that doubts this should ask the people of the north central zone what they have been suffering in the hands of these vagabonds and vagrants for the last 50 years. This is especially so in Plateau, Benue, Niger, Kwara, Nassarawa, Taraba and Adamawa states.
Yet there is an even more sinister dimension to this problem than most people care to admit. That dimension is best illustrated by the following question. Can there be any truth in the assertion that the Fulani herdsmen are nothing less than the vanguard and covert armed wing of the Fulani ruling class which has managed to infiltrate the south under the ingenious guise of selling cows?
Win ₦100,000 in the ‘Fund Ya Hustle' contest for Nigerian Start-ups
It is common knowledge that the Nigerian entrepreneurship environment is not an utterly friendly one, especially with poor government infrastructure in place, which makes it difficult for start-ups to kick-off and grow into their full potential, be it innovative, commercial or social-impact based projects and ventures. This is despite the large market opportunity available – an array of problems seeking to be solved and needs yearning to be qualitatively met.

Nadia Buari supplies drinking water to deprived villages (Photos)
32 year-old Ghanaian actress, Nadia Buari has provided drinking water for deprived villages at Boko-Abisem, a suburb Suhum in the Eastern Region of Ghana. She gave them two water boreholes meant to serve the natives and pupils of the Suhum-Abisim LA School with drinking water. The project tagged ‘The Suhum-Abisim Water Extension Project’, was funded by her foundation.

On why she ventured on the project, the light-skinned mother of two explained that, ‘I remember calling my aid an early morning asking him to immediately visit the community to find out exactly how or what could be done to help them. Upon his return, I was even heartbroken by the visuals he presented me. Even clean water was unavailable! Even though it cost me millions to complete these projects, nothing can be compared to this heartfelt fulfillment I feel now knowing the people of Suhum-Abisim have clean portable water for the kids in school and household activities. It is my eternal wish the water running through these tanks serve the purpose for which they were constructed. God bless the people of Suhum-Abisim. Thank you.’
