Real Madrid face disqualification from Copa Del Rey

Real Madrid could be expelled from the Copa Del Rey
competition for fielding an ineligible player during their clash with Cadiz
last night. The 24-year-old player Denis Cheryshev who scored the opening goal
of the game was on loan at
Villarreal last season, and
earned three yellow cards and a one-match suspension. He wasn’t meant to be on Real’s
line up because he is still serving a ban.
Although the Russia international was substituted few
seconds into the second half, Cadiz
President Vizcaíno has announced that they will report Real Madrid’s illicit
line-up. The
Blancos if found guilty, might be expelled from the competition. Osasuna were
expelled from the Copa Del Rey for a similar offence in September.
Real Madrid manager, Rafael Benitez has however denied
knowledge of the suspension.
“Of course the club knew nothing. We were not informed
by either Villarreal or the Royal Spanish Football Federation and when we were
notified, we took him off to show good faith,” He wrote on Real’s official
website.

Korede becomes Youth Ambassador for The Nigerian Police

Mavin Records artiste, Korede Bello has been unveiled as
the Youth Ambassador of the Nigeria Police. The Inspector-General of Police, Mr
Solomon Arase who was represented by Deputy Inspector-General of Police,
Danazumi Doma, Director, Finance and Administration, Arase said the ‘Godwin’
singer was chosen as an ambassador because he is a positive representation of
Nigerian youths.
 “We believe Korede
Bello’s exemplary behaviour and tenacity of purpose, like that of the Nigeria
Police, will be the needed influence to change the wrong or misconceived habits
of some of our youths. It is, therefore, my firm conviction that in fighting
crimes in our system, the youths are critical elements that must be
incorporated. The process of bringing the youths into our fold as
crime-fighting channels is very critical to the policing of this country.’’
 “I promise to do
my best, we the youths of this country will not disappoint you’’, Korede said.

Gary Neville named Valencia coach

Former Manchester United player and Sky Sports pundit, Gary Neville has been named coach of Spanish side, Valencia. He will be unveiled at a press conference on Thursday and would resume duties on Sunday. 

Speaking about his new role, the Old Trafford icon said, “I am excited and I am proud to have received this huge opportunity with Valencia Football Club. It is a huge club, of immense prestige and I remember well from my time as a player, the passion and loyalty of their fans. I’m looking forward to working with them, I know it’s a group of very talented players. I am very excited about the challenge that lies ahead together.”
Valencia president, Chan Lay Hoon also added, “We are delighted to have signed Gary as quickly. He is a person who combines technical expertise as part of the coaching staff of the England team and a brilliant playing career at Manchester United and his team.”

Barcelona player, Arda Turan emerges GQ magazine's Man of the Year

Barcelona player, Arda Turan has emerged GQ magazine’s ‘Man of the Year’. The Turkish player who got signed by the Catalans is yet to feature for the club due to the transfer ban that has been imposed on the club by FIFA.

 The 28 year-old shared a picture of the magazine’s front cover on his Instagram page. “Happy to share the latest cover of GQ magazine. Deeply honered for being selected as the “man of the year” for 2015.” He wrote.

Emmanuel Amuneke has said that FIFA’s decision to strip Kelechi Nwakali of the
bronze boot award given to him at the 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Chile should
be respected. The world governing body in a letter addressed to the NFF yesterday admitted erroneously awarding the no 10. player the golden boot instead of his teammate Samuel Chukwueze at the closing ceremony of the FIFA U-17 World Cup in
Chile.
“We have to
respect FIFA’s decision but I must let you know that our priority in Chile was
to win the trophy and I want to thank God that against all odds, we were able
to achieve that and anything after that is not really seen as a big deal. Since
they have admitted that it was a mistake, we have to leave it like that while
the two players concentrate on their career.
“I am sure they
still have a lot to achieve in life and I can only pray that the Almighty God
see them through.” The ex Nigerian player

Awwww! We might have problem with Cristiano Ronaldo’s ego on the pitch but the Portugues has done and still does some really cool stuffs outside football. Like his boundless passion for charity, how he handsomely rewarded his friend who sacrificed his career for him and many more. Another friend of his has given an account of how he changed his life.
Jose Semedo and Ronaldo met at the
academy of Sporting CP. According to Semendo, Ronaldo’s intervention after
Sporting decided that they were going to release him changed his life forever.
He explained that rather than watch him
go, Ronaldo told the club to put an extra bed in his room and that he would
exit the club if his friends leaves. Semendo who now plays for Sheffield
Wednesday said he could have joined his friends who were actively involved in
crime at Setubal if the Portuguese had not made that life-changing decision. He
added that most of his criminal friends are dead now or jailed. The pair ended
up being the only graduates from their year group
 Semedo who has now authored a book told the
Times: ​”He said they could put an extra bed in his room and that we
could share a cupboard for his clothes. He said that if I went, he would too. I
owe everything I have to him.
 The
place I am from in Setubal is not a good place for a young man. A lot of my
friends from there were involved in crime.
He continued, “Some
of them are dead now, or in jail. If I had gone back, maybe I would have stolen
cars with them. He changed my life. My family, my children, may career: it is
all because of him.”

Facebook founder, Mark Zukerberg and wife welcome first child, write her an open letter

Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg and his wife Priscilla Chan have
welcomed their first child – a baby girl called Max but that’s not all. The
couple in an open letter to the adorable baby also pledged to donate 99% of
their Facebook shares currently valued at $45 billion.  The family will now be left with $450 million.
Read a letter titled, ‘A letter to our
daughter’ addressed to Max.
 Dear Max,
‘Your mother and I don’t
yet have the words to describe the hope you give us for the future. Your new
life is full of promise, and we hope you will be happy and healthy so you can
explore it fully. You’ve already given us a reason to reflect on the world we
