Messi, Suarez fire Barcelona to third Club World Cup victory
An opener from Lionel Messi and a brace from Luis Suarez was enough to seal Barcelona’s Club World Cup title. The Spanish giants defeated River Plate 3-0 today at Yokohama to claim their 3rd global crown.
Ex Liverpool star, Luis Suarez who has been nothing short of exceptional for the team, scoring four braces in all competitions, this season was awarded the Golden Ball – the best player of the tournament.
He also broke another record today. His two goals took Barcelona’s goal total for the calendar year to 176 as against 175 recoded in 2012.

Bayern confirm Ancelotti will replace Guardiola as coach
Pep Guardiola’s departure from Bayern Munich has been confirmed by the club. He will be replaced by ex Real Madrid coach, Carlo Ancelotti. The Spaniard whose 3-year contract
with the German club will expire at the end of the season has won 5 titles (and still counting) for the club.
Bayern chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge confirmed the news on today to Bild newspaper.
“We are thankful to Guardiola for all he gave our club and hope to celebrate more success in the current season,”
Meanwhile 56year-old Ancelotti will sign a three-year contract to take over Bayern this summer.
“With Ancelotti we have another very successful coach coming to Bayern. We are looking forward to working together.” Rummenigge added.

Chelsea appoint Guus Hiddink interim manager. Didier Drogba likely to be his assistant.
Former Netherlands manager, Guus Hiddink has been named Chelsea FC coach. His appointment comes 3 days after former Blues boss, Jose Mourinho was sacked by the club.
Chelsea have also reportedly opened negotiations with ex player, Didier Drogba about becoming Guus Hiddink’s assistant. The duo alongside Chelsea owner, Roman Abramovich were spotted together at the stands during their clash with Sunderland today.
Meanwhile the team is back to winning ways. Ivanovic, Pedro & Oscar fired them to 3-1 victory.
