All she does is win! Just as she did in other competitions, Blessing Okagbare has dominated again. The Queen of tracks ran her way into history yesterday July 28th, 2014at the Commonwealth games in Glasgow, Scotland.

The 25 year-old athlete won gold medal in the women’s 100meters race at the ongoing competition. She cruised past Jamaicans Veronica Campbell-Brown and Kerron Stewart, who finished second and third in 11.03secs and 11.07secs, in the last 50m. Blessing has become the second Nigerian to win the coveted title after Mary Onyali, who won in 1994. 

Speaking on her victory, Blessing said “I am so excited right now! A new season’s best and win. I’m happy I was able to put on a show. I executed it and stayed patient like my coach said I should and after 70 metres it just felt easy! I still have the 200m and the long jump and I’m looking forward to both of those events now.”
