UEFA PRESIDENT LAUDS BARCELONA AND REAL MADRID

Former French football player and UEFA president Michel Platini has lauded the structures of spanish football teams, Barcelona and Real Madrid.
According to him, the system allows supporters to have a greater say in the running of their club, "I love the management structure of Real Madrid and Barcelona because the members remain responsible for the club and their decisions, both preserve their identity and the popularity of football lies precisely in the fact that there are such strong ties with the fans." He concluded.

WORLD RECORD: ONE YEAR OLD WITH 34 FINGERS AND TOES

Akshat Saxena, a one year old Indian boy has earned himself a place in the world record after being born with 14 fingers and 20 toes beating a Chinese boy's previous record of 31 fingers and toes.
Though he has been operated and now has 10 fingers and 10 toes, his parents were shocked when they found out and after their family friend finally convinced them to enter his data on the internet, they discovered his name was already registered in the record book.
His condition termed polydactyly is a rare genetic condition that makes unborn babies grow extra fingers and toes, usually on the little finger side of the hand.Source: OMG facts

LOUIS VUITTON PARTNERS WITH JACQUES CAVALLIER-BELLETRUD TO PRODUCE FIRST FRAGRANCE

Maverick designer Louis Vuitton has confirmed its decision to partner with renowned perfumer Jacques Cavalier-Belletrud (behind the likes of Issey Miyake's L'Eau d'Issey, Jean Paul Gaultier Classique, Opium pour Homme and more recently, Stella McCartney L.I.L.Y) to work on a new fragrance.
It is worthy of note that Louis Vuitton marketed three fragrances in the 1920s-1930s but later discontinued it.
According to Cavallier-Belletrud who began work on 3rd January, "Joining Louis Vuitton is an honour and a pleasure, It is a unique and particularly exciting adventure, all the more so as I share the Maison's values: respect for expertise, craftsmanship and the choice of the finest materials. The Maison's Heritage is also an inexhaustible source of inspiration."
The fragrance will be distributed exclusively via Louis Vuitton boutiques.

UK'S BIGGEST RESTAURANT ATTRACTS 60, 000 DINERS WITHIN ONE MONTH

Acclaimed as UK's biggest restaurant, about 60, 000 diners stormed Za Za Bazaar restaurant during December 2011 (equivalent to the entire population of a city the size of Torquay, the native population of Venice – or one in ten people living in Bristol).
The bristol-based brand which has provided employment for about 130 people hopes to looking to employ an additional 30 roll out 1,000 jobs over the next 18 months to employees, including waiting staff, receptionists and section heads.
According to Bristol Executive Chef, Vinay Reddy, "Adventure and live cooking are at the heart of the restaurant concept, which sets cuisine from India, China, Japan, the Far East, South America and Europe against vivid backdrops, reflecting the cultures from which it originates. We are totally uncompromising in employing the best chefs and investing in the freshest, highest quality ingredients. "We have been delighted by the early success of our new brand, which has broken all our targets. People have tried our food, liked it and brought their friends and families – and Za Za Bazaar is a great place for big parties and celebrations. Now we plan the roll out of our concept across the UK. Originality and quality will be the hallmarks of our new venues. We will spend in the region of £2 – £3million on each restaurant, creating 120 – 150 jobs at each.". He concluded.

OBAFEMI MARTINS TO EXPEND MILLIONS ON CHARITY

Rubin Kazan striker Obafemi Martins has revealed his intentions to help alleviate the poverty in his country.
Obagoal as fondly called through his Obafemi Martins Foundation which is dedicated to the memory of his deceased mother and brother has bugetted over 400 million Naira (over $2.5 million) on the project.
Obagoal during the recent holidays paid a visit to a motherless children's home in Lagos, where he donated food items to the 100 inmates.
"Nigerians deserve to live a better life, but the government alone cannot do everything. It is left for organisations and individuals who are in a position to also help those in need." He offered.

 About a week ago, news permeated the blogsphere (including LV) that tall and beautiful Nollywood actress, Oge Okoye shaved her hair in a new flick, incase you are still doubting if the lady in the picture above is the same Oge you used to know in movies, well she is and she is obviously rocking the look.
This new year, Oge thought it a marvelous idea to take some time out of her busy schedule to visit and donate to the less privileged, the charity homes she went to are; So Said Charity Home Okota, Heritage Orphanage in Anthony and SOS Isolo.
In her words, “I feel so honoured spending time with those wonderful children who have a great future ahead of them. Some of them would become actresses like me, doctors, lawyers and all. Its just a way of appreciating God who has been so faithful to me”. She affirmed.

Ace Nollywood actress, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde has added a another beautiful feather to her cap. The beautiful mother of four has just been made one of the ambassadors for Amnesty International.
 Amnesty International is a global movement involving over 3 million supporters, members and activists in more than 150 countries and territories with the intent of campaiging against the abuse of human rights.
Omotola who commands a huge fan base across Africa and the Caribbean launched Amnesty International’s maternal mortality campaign in Sierra Leone and supports campaign for freedom of expression.
