DAVID BECKHAM, CRISTIANO RONALDO, LIONEL MESSI OTHERS MAKE THE HIGHEST-PAID FOOTBALLER LIST

From their weekly earnings, endorsements and probably private businesses, Forbes brings you the list of top ten highest paid footballers.I still have a little problem with Samuel Eto'O's missing name, though to compile the list, they looked through commercial sponsor filings and spoke with talent agencies and soccer experts in the U.S. and Europe. All earnings are in U.S. dollars for salaries, incentives and sponsorship income earned in the 2011 calendar year. The top 10:
1.David Beckham, Los Angeles Galaxy ($46 million)2.Cristiano Ronaldo, Real Madrid ($42 million)3.Lionel Messi, Barcelona ($39 million)4.Wayne Rooney, Manchester United ($24 million)5.Kaka, Real Madrid ($21 million)6.John Terry, Chelsea ($18 million)7.Yaya Toure, Manchester City ($18 million)8.Fernando Torres, Chelsea ($17 million)9.Frank Lampard, Chelsea ($16 million)10.Steven Gerrard, Liverpool ($16 million)

PHOTO OF THE DAY: CHRISTIAN COMBS, SEAN 'DIDDY' COMBS' 14 YEAR OLD MODEL SON

He's clean, fresh and got so much swag (even though I don't like using that word). This is Christian Combs; Sean 'Diddy' Combs' 14-year-old son whom he just made an ambassador of his fashion line; 'The Sean John Boys spring / summer collection. The good looking dude will thus follow the footsteps of musicians
such as Nelly, Busta Rhymes, and Ralph Lauren, model Tyson Beckford who have headlined the brand in the past.I just hope in the next six months we don't hear stuffs like 'Christian's sex tape', scandals and all

FUNKE AKINDELE, FATHIA BALOGUN, ODUNLADE ADEKOLA OTHERS NOMINATED IN THE YORUBA MOVIE ACADEMY AWARDS (YMAA)

13 categories have been created for the maiden edition of the Yoruba Movie Academy Awards (YMAA) which is billed to take place at the Cultural Centre, Kuto, Abeokuta next month.

Aimed at celebrating outstanding artistes in the Yoruba movie industry, the awards is bankrolled by the Ogun State government and spearheaded by Tunde Oshinibosi also known as Laface.
This list is one of the toughest I've seen in a while. For example, the nominees for the best actor and actress in lead roles are all excellent in their rights but only two (for each category) will wear the caps, let's wait till the judges decide who these caps fit.

PHOTO OF THE DAY: DIVIDEND OF NYSC

What makes this picture hilarious to me is the way the guy was made (I think) to kneel down in public. And the girl's (I told you not to do it) look is a little bit funny too. And why the gathering??? I'm sure this is a product of 'private lesson'. May God forgive our guys/boys/men.Of course this isn't new. They call such hit&run. In this guy's case, he was caught but only God knows if he would take off or be locked down.
Many guys look forward to doing their NYSC in distant villages because of this kind of 'opportunity or benefit' and then they take off when their time is up. Is this supposed to be a parting gift or what? God will forgive you all.(Lol) But the girl is always at the receiving end, taking care of the child, at times sent out of her parents house; the guy returns to his base, gets a job and starts a new life with of course a 'cleaner' girl.

TRAGIC END OF CHIBEGE DANJUMA LAWI; THE BEST LAW GRADUATE IN NIGERIA

A friend just sent this story to me and I'm still reeling in shock. When Chibege Danjuma Lawi a graduate of Ahmadu Bello University Zaria woke up that fateful morning (13th April, 2012) little did he know death was lurking around the corner. The 24 year-old Adamawa state indigene was unarguably the best Law graduate in Nigeria. Infact on the day he was called to bar, which was 14th February 2012 he was said to have clinched over 100 awards.
Last friday, he went to Transcorp Hilton hotel Abuja hoping to get a good swim and probably join his friends/family members later but the worst happened. He got drowned and died afterwards. No one, not even the security agents around saw him struggle with water.Until his death, he worked as an Associate at J-K Gadzama & Partners LLP. He would be buried tomorrow 19th April 2012.
May his soul find repose!

NOLLYWOOD ACTRESS, STEPHANIE OKEREKE SAYS 'I DO' THIS WEEKEND

The wedding bells are still ringing on celebrities. According to sources, Stephanie Okereke is set to join the married women's club as she says 'I do' to Linus Idahosa, a PR guru this weekend. Her wedding has been billed to hold on saturday April 21, 2012 at Abbaye Des Vaulx De Cemay 78720 Cemay-La-Ville, Paris, France. The talk-of-the-town wedding is strictly by invitation and invited guests will be conveyed to the venue via Arik Air (Too much money).

And still some people who wouldn't mind their business (lol) claims she's invited more government officials to the wedding than her colleagues in Nollywood. (Well, it's her wedding let her do&undo)Stephanie's first marriage to a certain footballer some years ago packed up due to irreconciliable differences. We certainly hope or pray this will find a foothold.Congratulations. Wish her the best in this 2nd journey
