LAGOS STATE GOES STRICT WITH TRAFFIC LAWS + LIST OF PENALITIES

HELP SAVE JUDE IBEZIM OSEMEKE'S LIFE

This is an appeal to save Jude Ibezim Osemeke's life.

We write on behalf of Mr Ibezim Jude

Osemeke to appeal to your good conscience to assist us in sponsoring him for overseas medical treatment. About four months ago, Ibe suddenly developed hearing impairment, change in voice and severe headache and weakness of the body.

He was seen at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital by a neurosurgeon who then requested for a CT Scan of the Brain. The report indicated that Ibe has brain tumour called Chordoma. The neurosurgeon then advised him to seek

medical attention abroad.

We have contacted several reputable

neurosurgery centres in India and all are of the opinion that he will benefit from surgery. The definitive surgery which will be in two phases is estimated to cost 3.7 million naira (including the

cost of transportation, lodging, operation fees, feeding etc).

Mr Ibezim is from Onicha Ugbo in the present Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State. He is a Mass Communication graduate of Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ogun State and had

been unemployed since on graduation. His father is late and the family cannot afford the total cost of his treatment.

We humbly appeal to you to assist in saving the life of this promising young Nigerian. May the Almighty God continue to bless and keep you and your family.

PHOTOS: FEMI KUTI GROOMS CHILDREN

From all indications, it seems Femi Kuti's young children; Ayomide and Tunmise will be stepping into their father's big shoes.

Femi has been recently spotted countless times playing at the New Afrika Shrine

with his young children. During his thursday evening rehearsals, the kids would copy their father's moves,

Sing with him and play imaginary instruments like keyboard and trumpets.

During an interview last year, Femi described his creative lads thus; "Ayomide is just like Fela, too troublesome, while Tunmise is learning to be "a rascal" from Ayomide."

Meanwhile the gifted saxophonist's first son Omorinmade (a.k.a Made) is now studying classical music in the UK. With this stated, one can safely say his kids are keeping up with the Kuti's family tradition of producing world-class musicians.

SNOOP DOG CHANGES NAME, EMBRACES REGGAE STYLE

He now wants to be addressed as Snoop lion! Well, he didn't give reasons for the switch. Gangster rapper Calvin Cordozar Broadus, Jr. popularly called Snoop Dogg, made this known at a news conference in New York on Monday 30th July.

While recording his Reincarnated album in the Jamaica, the 40year-old rapper embraced reggae style; resulting in a three-part project: a reggae album, documentary and coffee-table photo book, all under the name of Snoop Lion.

He told reporters he's now 'born again' and wants to make music that his kids and grandparents can listen to. "I have always said I was Bob Marley reincarnated. I have always been a Rastafari.". He added.

During his stay in Jamaica, he said, he visited a temple and he was renamed Snoop Lion. He was also christened Berhane, an Ethiopian name which means "light of the world".

But what happens to rap?

"Rap isn't challenging; it's not appealing. Reggae was calling … it's a breath of fresh air. It feels like I'm 19 or 20 years old again," he said.

Bob Marley's son Rohan attended the conference and gave Snoop his blessing.

Wonderful!
