MIKE ANYASODO AND MANAGEMENT AT WAR OVER MTN ENDORSEMENT DEAL

A big war is reportedly brewing between MTN Project Fame (2) winner, Mike Anyasado (who recently took up the moniker iMike) and his management, August Pee entertainment.

The problem started when his management discovered he concealed his endorsement deal with top telecommunications company, MTN.

They were perplexed when they saw the pictures of iMike signing the documents on social media.

The 30 year old whose career was in limbo before he was signed onto the H-Man led August pee entertainment released the audio and video of his present single "Adaure" between April and May 2013.

The Adaure star when asked to state his own side of the story reportedly called their bluff. We reliably gathered that legal actions is being prepared against him and he's been given 14 days to reply the letter sent to him. However, on a career note, iMike is preparing to release a new single tagged 'rundown'.

These are some of the faces you would be seeing in the new season of MTV drama series Shuga. The photoshoot was recently done at the Protea Hotel, Ikoyi, Westwood, Lagos by award-winning photographer, Kelechi Obi-Amadi.

The line up of actors/actresses include Tiwa Savage, Chris Attoh, Sharon Ezeamaka, James Timini Egbuson, Kachi Nnochiri, Leonora Okine, KC Ejelonu, Olumide Oworu to mention a few.

Directed by Biyi Bandele (the maverick director who handled Half of a Yellow Sun), the series will premiere on World AIDS Day, December 1st, 2013.

ACTOR, KANAYO O KANAYO GETS POLITICAL APPOINTMENT

Seasoned Nigerian actor, Kanayo O Kanayo alongside 41 others have been appointed chairmen and members of the governing boards of 42 federal government agencies and parastatals.

The approval was done by President Goodluck Jonathan and the announcement made yesterday via a statement signed by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF).

The Mbaise-born thespian cum Pastor was appointed Chairman of the National Institute for Hospitality and Tourism Studies.

Tagged Flood with love, the celebrities are spotted "crying for help in" a weird but dramatic photoshoot; depicting victims drowning/struggling for their lives.

The campaign which was inspired by various flood incidents that ravaged the country is being sponsored/bankrolled by Nigerian business tycoons; Alhaji Aliko Dangote, Mrs. Folorunsho Alakija and Tony Elumelu.

IS TENNIS STAR, MARIA SHARAPOVA REALLY CONSIDERING CHANGING HER NAME TO SUGARPOVA?

The news making rounds is that tennis star, Maria Sharapova might be considering changing her name from Maria Sharapova (temporarily) to Maria Sugarpova for the upcoming U.S Open. The underlying motive is to promote her candy line, Sugarpova which was launched last year.

Another report states that the 26 year-old has taken permission from the Florida Supreme Court for the name change but the United States Tennis Association, USTA have denied involvement in the matter. Infact, they stated that they havn't received any formal request for Sugarpova to be in the draw.

Maria's agents have kept mum over the matter. She's however expected to address the Sugarpova talk in a press conference today in New York.

NIGERIA LEAGUE SEALS N5.4B TV RIGHTS DEAL

Good news for Nigerian football fans, most especially those who have been itching to watch the Nigerian League matches regularly. You know it used to be once in a week, come year 2015, Nigerians would have the privilege of seeing six matches per week.

The Nigeria League has sealed a lucrative 4-year television rights deal believed to be worth N5.4 billion with sports television station, Super sports. Confirming the news, Chairman, League Management Company, Nduka Irabor says it would go a long way in changing the league.

"Happier days are ahead, this contract has also seen Supersport assuring that Nigerians who are working with them will have their jobs secured at least till 2019."

He also added that unlike before where sponsors have looked the other way, there would be more money in the league, beginning from the new season, Supersports would also be giving the league $2 million (N323 million) per year.

DON JAZZY&D'PRINCE BECOME MTN AMBASSADORS

I wonder why endorsement deals are falling into the laps of Nigerian musicians only. Whatever happened to actors, directors, producers? they are equally doing us proud. Well, guess they have their reasons.

Maverick producer, Don Jazzy and Mavin Records artiste, D'Prince are the latest celebrities on MTN (ambassador) radar. The two brothers have reportedly signed an undisclosed but lucrative deal with Telecommunications giant, MTN. This is coming few months after Tiwa Savage, Praiz and KC joined the train.
