"GENEVIEVE NNAJI IS ONE OF AFRICA'S MOST POWERFUL ACTRESSES" ELLE MAGAZINE

Just like her colleague, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde was few months ago listed as one of the 100 most powerful women in the world by Time Magazine, pretty actress, Genevieve Nnaji has also gotten a strong mention in an international print media.

The mother of one was tagged one of the most powerful actress in Africa in Elle Magazine's Next Big Crossover Acts list. A profile on the Range Rover ambassador reads thus:

"One of the most powerful actresses working in Africa, Nnaji began her career at age eight, and has been constantly working in commercials and movies ever since. She's credited with putting Nollywood, Nigeria's Hollywood, on the map.

In 2005 she was awarded Best Actress at the inaugural African Movie Academy Awards (AMAA),and used her fame to launch her clothing line, St. Genevieve, in 2008 with the proceeds from sales supporting orphanages.

And she has the Oprah seal of approval—in 2009 Nnaji was profiled on an episode of The Oprah Winfrey Show, with the host referring to her as one of the most popular people around the world and the "Julia Roberts of Africa."

Also featured on the same list are renowned Bollywood actress, Aishwarya Rai, Mexican pop star Anahi and singer

OH NO! FANS WRITE PETITION TO REJECT BEN AFFLECK AS BATMAN

Some fans believe Hollywood actor, Ben Affleck ruined his superhero character in the 2003 movie, Daredevil, even his stellar performance in the award-winning flick, Argo didn't make up for it.

And news that he is to play, Batman in 2015 Superman sequel has been greeted with wild reactions. To show how serious they are, some angry fans have started writing a petition at Change.org asking Warner Bros to drop him and pick other suitable actors.

They also took to social media (twitter) to express their disapproval. Picking up the hashtag, BetterBatmanThanBenAffleck

they suggested Bradley Cooper, Roy Cropper, Christian Bale, Liam Payne, Michael Jackson, Nicolas Cage.etc as better replacements for the Oscar-winning Director.

LEGENDARY SINGER, BONGOS IKWUE NAMED NIGERIA FILM CORPORATION (NFC) CHAIRMAN

If you were a fan of popular 80's drama series, Cock Crow at Dawn, then the name Bongos Ikwue shouldn't be strange. The Legendary singer, acoustic guitarist has just been appointed Chairman of the Nigerian Film Corporation (NFC) board by President Goodluck Jonathan.

The veteran entertainer who recently remixed of the Cock Crow at Dawn song with a reggae artiste is also the brain behind the soundtrack of award-winning movie, Inale.

The event which was put together by Seun Oloketuyi, CEO, Best of Nollywood was held yesterday August 21 at the Eagles Park, Obokun Close in Ikeja.

Present at the event include Ibinabo Fiberesima, AGN President, Bukky Ajayi, Segun Arinze and a host of others. The second and third part of the 3-in-1 event will take place tomorrow 23rd August and Sunday, 25th August 2013.
