YAYA TOURE JOINS UN CAMPAIGN AGAINST POACHING

The 2013 Ballon d'Or nominee says there are about 800 elephants left in his country, Ivory Coast, he really wants the powerful animals protected. Yaya Toure who has been named UN ambassador is participating in the organization's campaign against poaching (the killing of elephants).

Speaking on the choice of the Ivory Coast international as an ambassador, UNEP Executive Director, Achim Steiner stated that he is a 'particularly powerful African voice' who would inspire action in efforts to tackle environmental challenges.

On the issue of poaching, Toure during his unveiling mentioned that it threatens the very existence of the African elephant. "And if we do not act now, we could be looking at a future in which this iconic species is wiped out."

"Ivory Coast's national team is named "The Elephants" after these magnificent creatures that are so full of power and grace, yet in my country alone there may be as few as 800 individuals left." The Manchester City defensive midfielder added.

17 YEAR-OLD NIGERIAN STRIKER ON ARSENAL RADAR

Just like Semi Ajayi who was later signed to Arsenal youth team after successfully undergoing a trial, 17-year-old Nigerian striker, Kelechi Iheanacho is being targetted by Arsenal FC, following his brilliant performance at FIFA Under-17 World Cup.

His performance wowed Arsenal's Chief scout, Steve Rowley who has been monitoring the tournament and from the look of things/according to sources the Gunners might sign him on.

The promising footballer who aspires to play for a Premier League club netted four goals during the game. He told Fifa.com, "I've scored four goals in a game many times, but only in the streets with my friends. But never in an international match."

I’ve read series of negative comments on these photographs and I’ve been asking, why have people not come to terms with the fact that Mercy Johnson is a daring and really talented actress. Early this year, Saheela Ibraheem became one of the youngest students to enrol at Harvard University. She actually got admissions in 13 schools including the University of Pennsylvania, University of Chicago, Brown, Princeton, Columbia to mention a few but she opted for Harvard. It however didn't come as a surprise when her name was included among the World's 50 Smartest Teenagers list.
