LIZ ANJORIN ON WHY SHE CHANGED HER RELIGION

Light-skinned Yoruba actress, Liz Anjorin who recently changed her religion (from Christianity to Islam) has opened up on the matter. Liz who now prefers to be addressed as Alhaja Aishat Anjorin told City People that it all happened in a miraculous way.

"Not that I woke up yesterday and decided to change my religion. By birth, I was half Muslim and half Christian. My father was Christian while my mum was Muslim. Growing up I went to church because of my father.

I didn't have a choice at the time but I have always had interest in Islam so immediately my father died I switched over to my mum's religion. It is a religion I love so much. Also Aisha is now my official name though Liz is still my name and I will continue to use the name to do movies."

HAS GEORGINA ONUOHA REALLY DUMPED ACTING?

I can't remember the last time I saw her in movies but it's really been long. I miss the trio of Georgina Onuoha, Victoria Inyama and Regina Askia who took a break from acting after they got married. They were more popular in the late 90s/early 20s and played interesting roles in movies.

The news making rounds is that Georgina who relocated to the US shortly after giving birth in 2007 has bade acting goodbye. The light-skinned actress is now (reportedly) a Health Information Specialist at the North American Healthcare Inc. But does this mean she won't be handling scripts no more? Miss her 🙂

MEET KIDAFFA UMARU MAINA, NIGERIA'S YOUNGEST PILOT

For the past few months, LVB has been featuring young, outstanding Nigerians who are not only hoisting the country’s flag but serving as an inspiration to many young people out there. Remember Zuriel Oduwole, Saheela Ibraheem, today our spotlight beams on 19 year-old Kidaffa Umaru Maina, the youngest pilot in Nigeria.

Interestingly, Kidaffa who hails from Borno State got his private pilot licence on 2 May 2012 at the age of 17. The first in a family of 3, he had his primary education at Carebears Nursery/Primary School Maiduguri, Borno and then attended King’s College Lagos for his secondary school programme.

After graduation, he got admission to Aptrac Aviation, Port Elizabeth, South Africa that same year, started his course in October 2011 and had his first solo flight on the 29th February 2012. He completed his commercial ground school exams in November 2012 and continued with the flying program. He passed his oral exam and flight test on 18 September 2013; 10days to his 19th birthday.

On his choice of career, Kidaffa mentioned that he had always had passion for flying right from his primary school days. The genius who is licenced on a multi engine aircraft and hopes to be a Captain on a Boeing 787 is currently in Nigeria processing his licence conversion after which he will be eligible to fly the Nigerian airspace.

He mentioned that the journey wasn’t rosy for him as finance posed a big problem, “One of my challenges was funding. My parents suffered a lot to raise the money for my fees. Secondly my age, most of my coursemates were like 10years older than me and we had to face the same task.” He added.

HOW SWEET! C RONALDO RESPONDS TO SEPP BLATTER'S 'HAIRSTYLE' COMMENTS

A mature response! The idea of comparing Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo and Barcelona playmaker, Lionel Messi is not new, infact so many sports pundits/legends and even fans have at one point or the other expressed their opinions about the world best footballers. It subsists till today.

The other time it was Jose Mourinho lashing out at the Portuguese, the baton is now with FIFA president, Sepp Blatter. The latter described the Portuguese in a video as a commander on the field, and again while speaking at Oxford University last week, Blatter said he preferred Lionel Messi to Ronaldo because the ex-Manchester United player spends more money on his hairstyle than the Argentine.

Responding to Blatter's comment on his facebook page, Ronaldo wrote, "This video shows clearly the respect and consideration that FIFA has for me, for my club and my country. Much is explained now. I wish Mr. Blatter health and a long life, with the certainty that he will continue to witness, as he deserves, the successes of his favourite teams and players."

Blatter after getting reports/letters from Real Madrid and the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) defended his statements, "In response to a question about Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, the moderator asked me to choose between one of the two and, in this moment having commented that Messi is the type of son all mothers would like to have, I ended up saying his name.

"However, I want to make it clear that for me Cristiano Ronaldo is at the same level as Messi and that they are both exceptional players, each one in their own way. It was never my intention to upset or show a lack of respect towards Real Madrid, one of their players or

their fans."
