UNPAID SALARIES: KESHI WENT TOO FAR – SPORTS MINISTER

The last has certainly not been heard about Stephen Keshi’s unpaid salary arrears ( 9months or thereabout). It would be recalled that the erstwhile Togo coach who is still working dutifully told BBC Sport lastmonth that being owed for months is the lowest point of his career.
“I have never had this kind of experience before. In Mali, they will never owe you; your salary will hit your account before the end of every month. It was the same thing in Togo. Owing me up to eight months makes me feel I am not being appreciated, it is like they think I am being favoured in what I am doing. I am not being favoured. I am giving everything I have to the job – I need to be respected and given my
pay.”
Reacting to Keshi’s outburst, Sports Minister and Chairman of the National Sports Commission (NSC), Bolaji Abdullahi told pressmen few days back that the Super Eagles boss went too far by taking the matter to the media, when all he could have done was give his employers time to sort it out.
“If NFA is having problems paying Keshi’s salary, it means that the system has a problem and that system has to be addressed, It is unfortunate that Keshi has to bring out the issue of his salary and make it a media issue, because it is something that can be addressed internally.”
“We are taking the right steps to support the NFF to meet this obligation. But, for me, it is not something that is supposed to be a media issue. However, do you boycott working or call a press conference because somebody owes you salary? When you get a job you do it and you don’t go about embarrassing your employer because your salary is delayed.”

DON'T GET IT TWISTED, IBRAHIMOVIC SAYS HE NEVER APPLAUDED RONALDO

They say pictures don’t lie, this one got me rubbing my eyes over and over again. Paris Saint-Germain forward, Ibrahimovic says you all should not get it twisted, his famous applause during Tuesday’s World Cup qualification
wasn’t directed at C Ronaldo’s brilliant performance but was to ginger (encourage) his team mates.
He told a sports journalist who asked if he was really appreciating the Real Madrid star, “No, I was just trying to encourage my team-mates, I clapped my hands to cheer them up and motivate them for the last few minutes. We had already gone down before. It is important not to give up until the final whistle because the unexpected can always happen.”

LoL! The attacker must have been left red-faced after finding out the whole world actually believed he hailed Ronaldo.
