2013 BALLON D'OR AWARD: RIBERY IS STILL PAINED, SAYS RONALDO WON NOTHING. (READ HIS QUOTE)

Who hasn’t gotten over the 2013 Ballon d’Or award thing? Everyone in the world except Bayern Munich Star, Franck Ribery and he has decided not to bottle up his feelings. According to him, losing to Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo was robbery and the extension of the voting deadline a political decision.

“I won everything I could win with Bayern and individually. Ronaldo on the other hand did not win anything. I am not sad that I missed out, but it does hurt a bit. I deserved to win the Ballon d’Or. It was clear that Ronaldo would win it. The voting deadline was extended by two weeks. This had never happened before. It wasn’t about football. It was a political decision. There are only three Bayern players in [the FIFPro team of the year]. That’s madness. [Thomas] Muller 
deserves to be there, and so do [David] Alaba,[Bastian] Schweinsteiger and [Arjen] Robben. We won five titles and made history. And then there’s the absence of Borussia Dortmund players… Where are [Mario] Gotze and [Robert] Lewandowski? This is impossible”

BBC PRESENTER, KOMLA DUMOR PASSES ON

Acclaimed Journalist and Presenter of Focus on Africa and European Mornings on British Broadcasting Corporation (BB)Komla Dumor has passed on. He breathed his last today at his home in London. The last message on his twitter handle was posted yesterday. "@Channels_TV w/the man who inspired me to become a newscaster d brilliant John Momoh-awesome on NTA news in the 80s."

A statement by Peter Horrocks, BBC Global News Director reads thus, "Komla's many friends and colleagues across Africa and the world will be as devastated as we are by this shocking news. The sympathies of all his colleagues at the BBC are with his family and friends."

Komla Dumor was born on 3 October 1972 in Accra, Ghana. He obtained a BA in Sociology and Psychology from the University of Ghana and then proceeded to Harvard University for a Masters in Public Administration. He joined BBC

as a radio broadcaster in 2007. He used to host Network Africa for BBC World Service radio and then joined The World Today programme. He became the first host of Africa Business Report on BBC World News.

He was aged 41.

May his soul find repose. Amen!

Wonders certainly has no intention of ceasing. Pregnant women and their weird cravings. I know some eat charcoals, pepper etc but this particular one is so disgusting. Pregnant Keshia relishes chewing urine-soaked nappies- she says it just tastes amazing; like sour sweet. Infact, she can't wait to give birth and have her friends supply her with loads of it. So it will definitely not end during her 9-month course.

"You know when you're walking into a room and you smell a strong smell like food and you kind of taste it? That's what it's like. It has to have pee in it, the heavier ones that have more pee smell better." The Queens, New York resident explained. The 22 year-old will be featured on the show 'My Strange Addiction' soon.

BEST OF NOLLYWOOD TO HOST 2-IN-1 PARTY FOR JIDE KOSOKO AT 60

 
Organizers of the Best of Nollywood awards (BON) have rolled out plans to celebrate veteran actor, Prince Jide Kosoko who turned 60 on January 12. According to them, a grand 2-in-1 party will be staged at two different venues for the erstwhile Association of Nigerian Theatre Arts Practitioners (ANTP) President.
The first event will take place on January 29 by 9am at Eagles park Hotel Ikeja. Storm 360 CEO, Obi Asika will deliver a lecture titled “Nollywood a Paradigm Shift to excellence and Global Market.” Other panelists include, Desmond Elliot, Fidelis Duker, Tunde Kelani and Wemimo Ogunde. The day two event which is the main bash will hold on the same day at Troy Lounge Ogba. You would recall that the BON management also treated Fuji House of Commotion star, Ngozi Nwosu to a 3-in-1 party last year August.
