GENEVIEVE& OMOTOLA'S "JOBLESS" SAGA: ACE PRODUCER, OBI EMELONYE CLEARS THE AIR

Heard the news few days ago but took it with a pinch of salt because it lacked depth. It was widely reported that ace Nigerian movie producer, Obi Emelonye actually stated that leading Nigerian actresses, Genevieve Nnaji and Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde are now jobless as they are too expensive to be hired for movie roles in the industry.
The “Last Flight To Abuja” director has however cleared the air on the alleged statement adding that his conversation with a friend about the two star actresses was “misquoted, misconstrued, taken out of context and blown out of proportions”. He’s not only apologized to them but also released a press statement to its effect.
” I woke up over the weekend to a barrage of online reports of irreverent and disrespectful headlines about Genevieve and Omotola that were attributed to me. Without delving into too much details, my private conversations in my house with a friend; talking about what Tom Cruise did when he stopped accepting lousy film projects from the big hollywood studios; has been misquoted, misconstrued, taken out of context and blown out of proportions.

I want to state firstly that I hold these two titans of our industry in complete veneration. (Even the misquotes could not hide that fact). I am also grateful for their unique contributions to the great success of my collaborative projects with them. Secondly, let it be known that in the time I have known Genevieve and Omotola and in all the dealings that I have had with them, I have never for once said a misplaced word about them, privately or publicly. I have neither betrayed the confidence of their friendship nor tried to gain cheap PR fodder from confidential informationI I may hold.
The initiator of this cruel stunt has coined stupid headlines to attract attention to themselves. I guess they have succeeded. However, I am not going to give them further relevance by naming them to the world. So I have decided take full responsibility for my naivete in being so indiscreet; something I am not known for.
I have already personally apologised to Omotola and Genevieve for my part in this silliness. It is with their permission and without intending to stoke the fire of this publicity stunt, that I am writing to clarify the situation and also to personally and publicly apologise to the millions of fans and supporters loyal to Genevieve and Omotola who have been scandalised by this perversion.
I have had a rewarding professional relationship with these two icons of our time; based on mutual respect and it is my wish to preserve that. I sincerely hope that this wholehearted and public show of contrition would be enough for Omotola and Genevieve (and their fans) to rise above their legitimate anger about this and forgive a friend who values them more than words can say.

We learn everyday. Mia culpa! Mia maxima culpa! God bless you all.

The retired player has announced he is now the owner of a new Major League Soccer franchise in Miami; last year November American basketballer, Lebron James also discussed the idea of investing in the club. The football venture will cost him £15million. Beckham also revealed his plans to build a 25,000 seat stadium on the Miami waterfront.

The 38-year-old noted, “This is an exciting time for myself, my family, my friends and partners, and it is something we are really looking forward to bringing to Miami. We’re planning to bring a team that will be a global team. I want to create a team that we can start from scratch and I am going to work hard for this city to make this team very successful. It is an exciting time.”

On the crop of players that will be on board, Beckham who retired in PSG in 2012 added that he will bring great players in. “The fortunate thing about my career is players are already interested in coming to Miami. Players are already interested into coming and playing – who wouldn’t? Great players will come here. We have a list of players we want. Everyone knows who they want. These players are calling me up and sending me messages. It would be disrespectful for me as an owner to speculate, but we want the best. RITA DOMINIC STUNS ON GENEVIEVE MAGAZINE'S FEBRUARY ISSUE

Laying pretty on the February and 11th anniversary cover issue of Genevieve magazine is Nollywood’s most fashionable actress, Rita Nwaturuocha Dominic. I love the ‘The Meeting’ star’s nude look (I think more people are embracing nude makeup now which is excellent) and the dress. It gives the cover which also has a tinge of red a sweet look. The publishers probably had Valentine in mind.
