CNN’s African Start-Up features founder of first online Nigerian Grocery store, Olumide Olusanya

Retired doctor and founder of the first online Nigerian grocery store, Gloo.ng, Olumide Olusanya, was featured on CNN’s ‘African Start-Up’ series, which highlights Africa’s SME entrepreneurs.
The programme profiles entrepreneurs in Africa on their effort in making their dreams a reality. In the interview on CNN’s African Start-up programme, Olumide Olusanya said the idea of starting an online grocery store came to him when he saw his wife juggling the tasks of raising three small kids while managing a full time job. He was motivated to make grocery shopping easier for all especially working mothers.
Olusanya says, “I saw the stress she was going through, to have a happy home and family, the pressure of a busy job and having to care for the home, so this for me was a way to relieve her of that stress and make shopping generally easier for busy Nigerians”.
This start-up whose operation is just a little over a year is aimed at becoming Nigeria’s largest supermarket with a focus of relieving people of the stress of everyday visits to the supermarket and the bottleneck of long queues and hassles encountered during such visits.
“Gloo.ng will change the standard of shopping in Nigeria, whereby customer can visit our site from the comfort of their offices and homes and place their orders by just clicking on products they need and have it delivered to them”.
The site was formally known has BuyCommonThings.com, but later had its name change to Gloo.ng with the objective of offering the best delivery services to customers at every point in time.

Samuel Eto'o annoyed at Mourinho's jibe

Naturally he won’t like it but his tongue is tied for obvious reasons. Although the striker hasn’t spoken to the press about it but Claude Le Roy, former Cameroon coach who contacted him revealed that he was really angry.
“I had him on the phone just before I came on screen, and he’s very annoyed. Actually, Mourinho went to see him before he saw the pictures and told him to not believe everything that was going to be said. And that he had said nothing about him. But I can tell you that Samuel didn’t like it.”
But the Chelsea boss insists their relationship won’t be severed. ” First of all because I don’t make fun. Secondly, because if there are managers in the world who really defend their players, I’m obviously one of them. And thirdly because Samuel Eto’o is Samuel Eto’o. He’s four times a Champions League winner: people think three times, but one in Real Madrid, two in Barcelona and one with Inter.”

"It's a disgrace". Mourinho furious at journalist who filmed his comment about Samuel Eto'o

That Chelsea boss, Jose Mourinho loves the spotlight so much is a fact not subject to any argument.  He’s been on sports headlines of late for several reasons; good, bad and funny. His habit of having a go at others unchallenged will never go unnoticed. Well we could consider this a taste of his own medicine.
Earlier on, the ex Real Madrid coach thought he made an off-record comment when he told a media house he lacked strikers and went as far as questioning Samuel Eto’o’s true age. “The problem with Chelsea is I lack a striker. I have Eto’o but he is 32 years old, maybe 35, who knows?” He stated.
The Jaguar ambassador after his attention was drawn to the footage has not hidden his disappointment at the media house who aired his “harmless statement”. He says, “It was a funny conversation with somebody that doesn’t belong to the football world.”
He continued, “It is a disgrace that someone is taping a private conversation I’m not defending what I’m saying. I’m attacking something that is, I think, fundamental in your professional area and that person. showed exactly what he is or what he does not know about the job. From my perspective, the comment is not obviously a good one, not one I would do in a serious way, not something I would do in an official way in an interview.”
