Opinion: Ebola might be a scam | By: Greg Ighodaro

I know you already have your reservations against my caption, but you might want to keep them under bucket until you get to the end of this article, just follow closely and let’s review this together. Towards the end of last month a deadly and very contagious disease EVD (EBOLA virus disease) was said to have resurfaced after some patients started showing the symptoms’ again. The deadly disease known to have started way back as at the 70’s has found its way amongst humans again and this time more effectively.
The substantiation of all the stories there about this disease is barely my business, but how the government of Nigeria, known to take advantage of any situation, especially negative, for their political and selfish gains, may have gotten into this global pandemonium to sieve out the gold that might be imbedded in the outbreak of this disease.
Nigerians are known to deal with situation of the moment and have a tendency of forgetting previous national events if introduced to new ones. As far as I’m concerned, facts and figures might be right about the swift spread of EVD but not even a blind man is ignorant of the Political devices thoroughly aimed at the masses the government is suppose to serve just to create an unsettled atmosphere perfect for them to strike their strategies.Just recently, the tag #Bring back our girls became popular because of our lack of focus as a people and a nation, we’ve lost focal point of “that” national event and has moved forward into #Ebola, irrespective of how the story of the over 200 Chibok girls ends. Now grants and supports are being given from health organizations around the world to contain this dreadful disease and the good news is Nigerian government received a large sum of the support given except that they’ve used it to build under average facilities and spread unnecessary panic.
I like the fact that everyone should wash their hands and do more healthy exercises. It is good, I mean people should be clean but In my candid opinion, the government has found a ground to shift our focus off the Chibok girls that are somewhere within the country, hopefully, living under torment and forced doctrines of their abductors. Guess what, this Ebola is strong enough to scare the whole world but won’t stop the campaign exercise(s) of our political leaders who are almost not concerned. As a matter of fact, the number of fliers and publicity given to the masses concerning Ebola is not close to the publicity they’ve given to political aspirants for the election that is still a year away.
Secondly, the government is proposing to stop gatherings where this contagious disease can find an opportunity. Churches, schools etc are being advised to stop meeting to contain Ebola, but there is no gathering as much as the kind of crowd we have during campaigns, if the government is serious about containing this disease, the first measure is to stop campaigns that have the highest plausibility of spreading Ebola.
The government will not be moved by this observation, but as a nation, we have a choice not to move in the direction this government known for treating situations trivialy and milking out all there is available to fill their pockets and gain more power. We have an option to still help the Chibok girls raise a voice of freedom and help their families smile again.
Not a sentence in this article have I mentioned that Ebola is not real and have I opposed the facts, but this disease in the hands of Nigerian government is just another opportunity to break higher political grounds and shift our attention away from the problems we were dealing with before the outbreak of EBOLA. Spread the news, make some noise about this, we refuse to be gullible again, because what will eventually happen is, this Ebola disease will be contained, maybe or maybe not, but the government won’t stop to oppress us with their selfish agendas. My advice “FOCUS”
PEOPLE OF NIGERIA.

Nigeria's Victor Moses emotional about Chelsea exit

Nigerian winger, Victor Moses admits it was difficult leaving Chelsea again for another club. Apparently his heart is still with the Blues. The 23-year-old who recently joined Stoke City on a season-long loan wrote an emotional message on his twitter page.

Oh No! MI can't be serious about quitting music.

Someone tell me his account has been hacked or something. How can MI quit music? He’s one of the best and talented rappers in Nigeria. Jude Abaga created his own space and blew our minds with his unique music. And just last year he was named Nigeria’s most financially successful rapper. He posted that on his instagram page and right now I’m still hoping it is not true. What could have happened?

Nigerian football legend, Taribo West's hairstyle named the worst in soccer.

Oh please, I strongly disagree. There are worse hairstyles than his.

Worldsoccertalk.com has named Nigerian football legend, Taribo West’s hairstyle as the worst ever in soccer. The football site recently compiled a list of Top 10 Worst Haircuts in Soccer for both past and present footballers and his name surprisingly occupied the top position.

(The bright green colour in his hair probably represented his country’s colours.)

Actually Giovanni Simeone’s hair (the second pic on top) is worse than Taribo’s. Another shocking name on the list is PSG’s David Luiz. On the contrary he has a beautiful hair.(Well, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.) France’s Bacary Sagna should be on that list and so many names I can’t remember right now.

Their top ten footballers with worst hairstyles.

1. Taribo West

2. Chris Waddle

3) Djibril Cisse

4)  Giovanni Simeone

5) Ronaldo (Brazil)

6) Marouane Fellaini

7) Defenders (David Luiz, Fabricio Coloccini, and Carles Puyol.)

8)  Rene Higuita (Colombia)

9) David James (ex-England goalkeeper)

10) Raheem Sterling (Liverpool)

Here’s what they said about Taribo.

“The Nigerian had the worst haircut in the world. It could only be described as braids, but with most of his head shaved, and then the braids put up into pigtails. He even had the cheek to die his hair bright green at one stage during his career. West had a brief spell at Plymouth Argyle, where he made four appearances. The west-country club obviously weren’t big fans of his ability to play, as well as his terrible haircut.”

AFCON 2015: CAF disqualifies Rwanda

CAF have announced the disqualification of Rwanda from the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers (AFCON) for using a dual-identity player; Birori Dady. After series of investigations, CAF found out that Rwanda fielded an ineligible player in the first leg of their qualifying match against Congo. Birori who plays for AS Vita Club with a Congolese (DRC) passport was using the name Etekiama Agiti Tady, with a different age.
A statement from CAF reads thus. “The protest by Congo contested the eligibility of the player Birori Dady aligned with Rwanda, and plays for the AS Vita Club of Kinshasa with Congolese (DRC) passport as Etekiama Agiti Tady, and a different age.

“Following investigations by CAF and on the basis of documents provided by the federations of Rwanda, Congo and DR Congo, and hearing the player’s testimony on 11 August 2014 at CAF headquarters in Cairo, CAF established that the two identities only referred to a single person.

“While the Rwandan Football Federation (FERWAFA) maintained that to their knowledge the player Dady Birori had one identity, investigations revealed that he was summoned as Etekiama Agiti Tady by FERWAFA to join the national team of Rwanda.”
The Super Eagles were initially meant to meet Rwanda in October at Calabar, Nigeria, they will now face Congo in Group A of the AFCON 2015 qualifiers.
