"Keshi's attitude changed after the Nations Cup". Emmanuel Emenike opens up in new interview

Keshi and his players Season 2. In a new interview with Africanfootball.com, Fenerbahce star Emmanuel Emenike reacted to comments made by his boss, Stephen Keshi sometime ago that he’s not pleased with him. The Glo ambassador and AFCON 2013 top scorer, also revealed that Keshi’s attitude towards him changed after the Nations Cup.

“I have always treated Keshi like a father, and he has always lived in my heart to be a good father. Before now, we have been enjoying a smooth relationship and I see no reason why he should be holding grudges against me.

Keshi is a good coach, a coach with high pedigree. I give him all the respect I can give my father whenever I come for a national assignment. Before the 2013 Nations Cup, I could remember he called me to have a chat and I was ready to give him my best.

“My performance at the competition was inspired by Keshi. He showed me love, he put me through and I always respected his decisions. I never thought that I am bigger than any coaches. Everything changed after the Nations Cup, everything about him towards me changed and I decided to stay on my own.

He continued, “But I am very surprised by what he said that he and some players in the Eagles are not happy with me. Over what. I don’t want Nigerians to see me as being proud or arrogant, but if the coach thought inviting me to his team will not bring result or peace to the team, he can let me be. I have maintained a solid relationship to avoid quarreling with him, but if my invitation to play for Nigeria does not stand for peace, I will like to stay focused with my club. I have always loved to give my best for Nigeria and I always make it known that I can always fight to score goals for my country and I will not like coach Keshi to let Nigerians see me as an undisciplined player who is not ready to give them my best again.
He added. “My Super Eagles career is as important as my club career. Coming to play for Nigeria was the biggest decision I have ever made in my life. And I appreciate the way the fans have been striving hard to cheer me up whenever I push for goal. I have never seen the Super Eagles camp as my father’s house, it’s a temporary place for everybody, and why should we be making problems for ourselves? he asked.
“As a matter of fact, I have no grudges with anybody in the team. I see everybody as my friend, I tried not to distinguish myself from any other player, as far as we have come to serve our country, we are equal. If Keshi thought inviting me is a problem to his selection or the team, I will prefer to stay back and maintain my big respect for him.
“The bottom line is that I don’t have problems with Keshi and I don’t have problems with him putting me on the bench. I am not bothered if he chose not to play me in a match and the fact remains that he made me in the Eagles and I will always give him his deserved respect anytime.”

Music: BOUQUI ft Solomon Lange- Salama Nigeria

Ace Gospel singer, Bukky ‘BOUQUI’ Afolayan has released a beautiful song ahead of Nigeria’s 54th Independence Day celebration coming up tomorrow, the rap-vangelist BOUQUI calls this Salama Nigeria.

Salama Nigeria is produced by VC Perez and it means Peace Nigeria in Hausa Language..She featured the vibrant northern Gospel singer Solomon Lange and it is a prayer song for a better and greater Nigeria.

Filmmaker, Charles Novia reviews Genevieve Nnaji&Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde's acting abilities

Ace filmmaker and movie critic, Charle&s Novia while congratulating Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde and other recipients of the national honors, took to his facebook page to do a review of the highly-successful movie stars. He says unlike the former who has more depth and the gift of role immersion, the latter has not evolved artistically beyond her present heights in her career. Read more of his submission below.

Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde is known to many. Her acting prowess is arguably in a class by itself and her being nominated as one of the world’s 100 most influential persons by TIME magazine a couple of years back must have paved the way for her present national recognition by the Federal Government. Frankly speaking, I personally think she has more depth in acting than her ‘rival’ Genevieve Nnaji. I have worked with both of them in the past and also studied their acting styles. Omotola has the gift of role immersion. She gives everything into her characters. There is an organic style of interpretation she is gifted with. Very few actors have that. She Is not a Method Actor, mind you but she has delivered roles which many method actors would give her a standing ovation for.

Genevieve Nnaji, on the other hand, is a fantastic actress and a trend – setting one too who was first honoured by Mr President a couple of years ago. But she lacks the intrinsic ability to evolve artistically beyond her present heights in her career. That is my opinion. There is an underlying stereotype in her interpretation of her roles in many of her movies; a linear aloofness and veiled disdain at the thought of being pushed further down the exploratory lane. Of course she has an uncanny screen presence which generally veils her artistic shortcomings when it comes to acting and between her and her rivals, she comes tops on the fan base list. However, with an attitude which seems to say she has nothing more to prove, even the fans would become restless if new artistic exploits are not offered from her to which they can beat their chests.

And for fans of both actresses, this is a professional review of their acting abilities and not an attempt to rekindle old rivalries. Somehow, this post on the National Honours dove tailed into their artistry. All well and good.
