Vincent Enyeama nominated for 2014 BBC Footballer of the Year award
Super Eagles goalkeeper, Vincent Enyeama has had a fantastic season at his club side Lille and is one of Nigeria’s decisive players, his nomination for the BBC African Footballer of Year for 2014 however comes as no surprise.
The father of three joins 6-time title holder; Yaya Toure, Gabonese striker, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Algeria’s Yacine Brahimi and Gervinho of Ivory Coast’s on the list.
The winner according to BBC will be decided by fans of African football, who have until November 24 to vote for their choice online or through SMS. The winner will be announced on December 1.

CNN rejects political adverts from Nigeria
American cable and satellite television channel, CNN recently rejected 2015 elections-related adverts sent in by Nigerian presidential aspirants.
A consultant to a presidential aspirant told TheCable.ng “We approached CNN agents in Nigeria to place some adverts for our principal. We sent the creatives to them as requested and they returned them, saying they do not run commercials that are intended to campaign for votes. We could not believe it.”
Ashley Hogan-Gancarz, the account manager of CNN International who spoke to TheCable.ng reporter maintained that the rejection was not an act of discrimination against Nigeria but political/religious adverts placement is against Ofcom regulations (regulator of the broadcast industry in the UK, from where CNN International oversees its African operations.)
“If you want to promote investment opportunities, etc. that would be fine but nothing to do with politics or the 2015 election.” He added.
CableTv also learnt that CNN charges up to N5m for a 30-second spot at prime time.

Very sad! Renowned preacher, Dr Myles Munroe, wife and family members die in plane crash
Internationally renowned preacher, Best selling author and General Overseer, Bahamas Faith Ministries International, Dr. Myles Munroe, his wife Mrs. Ruth Ann Munroe and other family members have died in a plane crash.
According to reports, a Lear 36 executive jet which departed the Lynden Pindling International Airport (LPIA) in Nassau, Bahamas at 4:07PM for the Grand Bahama International Airport reportedly struck a crane at the Grand Bahama Ship Yard, exploding on impact and crashing into the ground near a junkyard area.
The crash killed all nine people on board the private jet. The cause of the crash hasn’t be determined and identities of the other people on board have not yet been confirmed.
Meanwhile, the crash occurred as people were gathering in Grand Bahama for Dr. Munroe’s 2014 Global Leadership Forum which starts today, November, 10, 2014.
Scheduled to speak at the forum include former mayor of Atlanta and former U.S Ambassador to the United Nations, Andrew Young as well as Africa’s richest woman Mrs. Folorunso Alakija amongst others.
Until their shocking deaths, Dr. Munroe was the senior pastor of Bahamas Faith Ministries International Fellowship and his wife, Ruth Ann, a co-senior pastor.
They were blessed with two children, Charisa (daughter) and son Chairo (Myles Jr.) Munroe.
May their souls find repose. Amen.
