Oops! Fake Steven Gerrard account quoted in official Germany World Cup movie

First of all, Steven Gerrard doesn’t have a twitter account. Then, if you followed tweets on the 2014 World Cup closely, you should remember this quote, “Brazil have Neymar. Argentina have Messi. Portugal have Ronaldo. Germany have a team!” I remember vividly.
The tweet was featured in “Die Mannschaft”; the official German World Cup movie produced to celebrate their win in Brazil. The team behind the team believed it was a real Steven Gerrard quote but unfortunately it was posted from his parody twitter account.
The revelation was made by ‎Seumas Beathan, the handler of the account and a staunch Liverpool fan.

Mesut Ozil honoured for funding 23 children's surgeries in Brazil.

Big-hearted Arsenal star, Mesut Ozil has received a  Laureus Prize for funding life-saving surgeries for 23 children in Brazil. The charity prize was handed to him at the Laureus Media Awards, held in Berlin today.

Reacting to the honour, the 26 year-old said, “This accolade means a lot to me because I am honoured for something I’ve done off the pitch. This makes me very, very proud. It also means a lot to me because I was able to help children, and they are our future. I am delighted that everything worked out. The doctors have done an incredible job.‎

“Because I am famous it is easier to help — footballers also earn a lot of money. And to me personally it’s just very important to help children. I have a few other small projects I want to make reality and I will continue to step on the gas off the pitch so that I can help as many children as possible.”

Vincent Enyeama reveals how he was isolated in France because of Ebola.

Super Eagles goalkeeper, Vincent Enyeama is one of many Nigerians (all Nigerians actually) who are happy to see the end of Ebola in the country. The BBC Footballer of the Year award nominee has revealed how he was isolated and monitored at his French club Lille because of the dreaded disease.

My club monitors me for three weeks any time I return from Nigeria because of Ebola and nobody wants to sit around you or shake you then.”

“But I must now commend the Nigerian government for the massive effort they put up to eradicate it from the country and get an approval from the WHO (World Health Organisation).”

If he had his way, AFCON 2015 will be shifted to a later date.

If I were CAF, I will suspend the tournament because it is difficult to contain. But if we qualified, I will play in the tournament,” he added.‎

America sent Ebola to Africa&then left my brother to die like a dog"- Thomas Duncan's sister

Mary Pearson, the elder sister of Thomas Duncan hasn’t recovered from the shock of her brother’s death. Recall that Thomas Duncan, the first Ebola patient in America contracted the disease on October 15 after he rushed his pregnant, infected Landlord’s daughter to an hospital in Liberia. He died few days later in America.

In an exclusive interview with Daily Mail, the 52 year-old opined that the Ebola Virus was created in U.S lab and sent to Africa to kill innocent people.

They sent the virus and infected people here… then blamed Liberians. What we heard is that Ebola was created by the Americans and they sent it to kill us.They killed that boy for nothing.’
She recalled her last moment with him.

‘I I hugged him and I was ruffling his hair because he was always cleaning his hair. He was happy. We were all happy that day. His son had sent for him and he was going to America to see him. We didn’t hear from him until we heard that someone from here had tested positive for Ebola. Then someone called from FedEx to say that he was sick. I was feeling bad. I called my sister. He couldn’t talk himself.’

Mrs Pearson also said his brother wasn’t given adequate treatment as other American citizens who contracted the disease.

Eric suffered in exile and it really hurts me. They didn’t feel sorry for him. They didn’t give him drugs. They had the means to treat him but they treated him like a dog. They are wicked. They didn’t treat him because they said he brought Ebola to America.’

‘We begged. We pleaded. I even offered my own blood, even though it wouldn’t do anything for him. We requested everything we could think of to save Eric. They said no.’ His nephew, Josephus Weeks added.

Pearson continued, ‘We knew that he didn’t have the sickness here so we felt that we were Ok. But he had interacted with everyone so we imposed a quarantine on ourselves. No-one official came to do anything. ‘The pastor contracted the virus and died and his wife died and the pastor’s son and another lady, Marie, she died too. Plenty people died. More than eight people.’

‘In the first place no-one would come to my shop. But then my daughter said to reopen the shop. People started to come, but one at a time, because they were afraid. it was not until 21 days had gone [the length of the quarantine period] that they started to come back properly.’
