Left to Barcelona star, Xavi, Cristiano Ronaldo would not even be in top three for Ballon d'Or.

To most football fans out there, Xavi must have had several bottles of alcohol before he spilled those words out. Speaking in a recent interview, the Barcelona legend stated that World Cup performances of Ballon D’Or nominees ‎should be the criterion for picking this year’s winner. 
Asked who his top 3 would be if he had been Spain’s captain, the midfield ace picked Lionel Messi, Philipp Lahm and Javier Mascherano and left Real Madrid goal machine, Cristiano Ronaldo out.
“The thing is, Cristiano didn’t do much in the World Cup and I think that in the year of the World Cup that defines much of the season. He added
And on Messi’s chances of winning, the 34 year-old said, “He is the best player in the world and we have to live with these responses. But I see him happy and content. Very different to last year when he suffered that beastly injury that kept him off the field of play for two months, also with the World Cup on the horizon, it wasn’t an easy year for anybody. But this year he’s at the top, we are really enjoying it with him on the pitch. He’s performing like the best Messi.‎”

2015 elections: Nigerians contribute N44.5m for Buhari's campaign.

All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari has disclosed that Nigerians have so far contributed the sum of N44.5m towards his campaign for the 2015 general elections.
Speaking to some journalists today at Abuja, GMB has widely called said the donations were made through direct deposit and sale of donation cards.
Citing US President Barack Obama, he added that he asked his supporters to contribute towards his campaign and is overwhelmed by the support he’s received so far.‎

The 33 year-old who came behind tennis ace and  five-time Wimbledon champion, Bjorn Borg believes he should be occupying the top spot.‎
‘Thank you but to finish second is like finishing last. On that list I would have been No 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5, with due respect to the others. He is a cool person and a living legend.’

Governor Babatunde Fashola hosts Bible Knowledge teacher.

Can imagine how the meeting went down. Of course they would go down memory lane; he would ask about other teachers, she might ask about few of his classmates probably the outstanding/controversial ones, and probably laugh over some unforgettable classroom scenes and all. 
Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Fashola reunited and hosted his favourite teacher, Mrs Felicia Iyabode Akinola at his Ikeja home yesterday.
The woman who taught him Bible Knowledge in 1976 at Birch Freeman High School, Surulere Lagos was also his favourite teacher.

CNN's most inspiring women of 2014: 2 Nigerians make the cut.

Two Nigerians have made Cable News Network (CNN)’s list of most inspiring women of 2014. The Leading Women features extraordinary women who have excelled and made a mark in their chosen professions.
The two Nigerians on the list are accomplished writer, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie and the late Doctor Stella Ameyo Adadevoh who died after contracting Ebola at First Consultants Hospital, Lagos, Nigeria.
“Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie — The Nigerian writer has authored three novels and is heralded for drawing attention to African literature throughout her award-winning career. This year, she was nominated for Forbes’ Africa ‘Person of the Year’ Award as well as ‘Personality of the Year’ in the 2014 MTV Africa Music Awards.

Dr Stella Ameyo Adadevoh — The Nigerian doctor died this year after overseeing the treatment of Ebola patient Patrick Sawyer. Her efforts prevented the wider spread of Ebola in Nigeria.”
