Mental illness allegation: Akinwunmi Ambode's camp releases statement

It has come to the attention of the Akinwunmi Ambode Campaign Organization the wicked, baseless and cowardly lies being circulated about our candidate for the Lagos State Governorship Position, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode.
The jittery opposition will stop at nothing in its smear campaign having failed to contain the soaring popularity of the APC Governorship candidate. But we are neither bothered nor discouraged; and we know that our numerous supporters and the generality of well-meaning Lagosians can see through the lies and desperation of those who dread a crushing defeat at the forthcoming election.
We know the source of this evil story as well as their despicable trumpeters. Well, we’ve got news for them… April 11, 2015 is almost here and it’s a date with history, when the good people of Lagos State will once again reject the evil machinations of those political marauders trying so hard to hijack their destiny.
For the avoidance of doubt, Mr. Ambode neither suffers from any ailment nor has ever met or been treated by a certain Dr. Lanre Adeoye. This fictional tale should be disregarded in its entirety.
With a clear focus, sound mind and in good health, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode shall be unwavering in his campaigns and strategic consultations to retain Lagos State for the All Progressive Congress (APC).
Fashola is working, Lagos is moving and Ambode is ready. No weapon of the opposition can stand against this obvious choice of the people.

‎OBJ, a founding member of the party declared that he is no more a politician and now prefers to be called an elder statesman. He also added that he doesn’t want to be part of a government who has no regards for the constitution. ‎
He handed his membership card to a PDP Ward 11 leader in Abeokuta North Local Government, Alhaji Sarajudeen Oladunjoye and asked him to tear it.

There's a touching message behind Zlatan Ibrahimovic's new tattoos.

‎Forget about how ugly his body looks right now, the tattoos are temporary and are for a pleasant cause i. e to raise awareness of the United Nations relief work in impoverished countries.
Striker, Zlatan Ibrahimovic was booked yesterday for stripping his shirt after scoring in the game between PSG and Caen but unknown to many, he was showing off his new tattoos which had the names of 50 hungry people he helped by the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP).
The former Barcelona player  wrote
on PSG’s official website: “On Saturday evening against Caen, when I took off my shirt, everyone asked what these new tattoos were. I had 15 temporary tattoos on my body. They were the names of real people who suffer from starvation in the world.

“Even if the tattoos are gone today, these people are still there. There are 805 million starving people in the world. I want you to see them, through me, to help the World Food Programme.”

Ibrahimovic added: “It’s the first time I have worked publicly with any charity. If we can reach the world’s leaders, I know that we can solve together the problem of hunger in the world.”

‘Wherever I go people recognize me, call my name, cheer for me, But there are names no one cares to remember. That no one cheers for: the 805m people suffering from hunger in the world today.

‘I have the supporters all over the world. From now on I want this support to go to the people who suffer from hunger, they are the real champions. So whenever you hear my name, you will think of their names.” The Swedish footballer concluded.

Some of the names include Carmen, Mariko, Antoine, Lida, Rahma and Yaae.
On why the prolific forward was the right man for the job, WFP director for France Marina Catena noted that he, “had this dream that someone would share this message in a simple way, beyond any barrier.

“We thought of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who is often asked for autographs. Why should it not be Zlatan, this time, who wore the autographs on his skin?

“We are proud that he agreed to carry this message and that Paris Saint-Germain helped us to organise this project.”

"Let us all be, you are not God" Femi Fani-Kayode tells Obasanjo.

Director of Media and Publicity of President Goodluck Jonathan’s campaign organsiation, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode has reacted strongly to ex President Olusegun Obasanjo’s claims that GEJ has plans to scuttle the forthcoming elections for fear that he would be jailed if his opponent succeeds him.
The former Minister of Aviation and Special Assistant on Public Communication told press men at a briefing in Abuja on Sunday that  Obasanjo’s grouse with President Jonathan is personal and can no longer intimidate him.

He should leave Nigeria out of it and let us all be. If he has a personal score to settle with Jonathan he should not do so at the expense of the peace and stability of Nigeria.

“If he wants to stop Jonathan then let him attempt to do so through the democratic process and through the ballot box and not through foul and unconstitutional means.
“We said it before and we will say it again: gone are the days that any President can be tele-guided and controlled because we have all come of age.
“We continue to hold President Obasanjo in high esteem but his recent actions and utterances are beyond the pale. He has been unfair to Jonathan, to Nigeria and even to himself.
“Most importantly, the days of intimidating others with his harsh words and overbearing influence are long over. Obasanjo is not God. Only God is God and He alone determines the fortunes of men and the destiny of nations.”
