Fayose's brother wants him to stop embarrassing the family, blames Nigerians for electing him.

Segun Fayose, the elder brother to Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose in a recent chat with Nation newspapers reporters appealed to his brother to stop dragging the family name into mud.
The UK-based Accountant said the abuses he has hurled at elders like former President Olusegun Obasanjo and the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Gen. Muhammadu Buhari have really put the family in bad light adding that their father was a gentle and contented Pastor before his demise.
“It is a pity Nigerians are celebrating criminals. I am angry with Nigerians for electing somebody like Ayodele as governor. My children cannot come to Nigeria because of the terrible situation of our country.

“I don’t have a relationship with any of our leaders because of their criminality and anybody who says I collected money from  the opposition should step forward to challenge me. Ekiti and Nigeria are bigger than Fayose’s name and both names should be protected.

“I don’t want anything from anybody, but Ayo should stop insulting and abusing my father’s name. As a result of Fayose’s attitude, many people believe the Fayose family is rude but it is far from the truth.

“I have spoken to him many times, but he refused to listen. Buhari and Obasanjo are old enough to be his father and I don’t know why he should be insulting them.
“I am always sad with the situation of this country. Ayo’s arrogance is one of the reasons I said people should not vote for him prior to the Ekiti governorship election. If all I am saying is not true, my six children should die and I should end up in shame.

“Most of us abroad are not happy with the situation of Nigeria. We are sad. When people call me from Ekiti to complain about Ayo, I tell them to forgive the family. People should not see Ayo as an ambassador of our family.”
 He stated.

"We are relieved by the exit of a mole" Amaechi, Rivers APC react to Ikuru's defection

The Rivers State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has reacted to the defection of former Deputy Governor of Rivers State, Engr. Tele Ikuru, to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). His exact has been described as good riddance to bad rubbish.
A statement by Rivers APC Chairman, Dr. Davies Ibiamu Ikanya reads, “Contrary to the thinking in some quarters, the defection of Engr. Tele Ikuru did not come to us as a surprise. Rather than being shocked, we feel relieved that he is no more part of us because Ikuru was a PDP mole in our midst.

Unknown to most people, Ikuru initially refused to leave PDP for APC with Governor Rotimi. Amaechi in November 2013. However, after series of meetings with his uncle and political mentor, Chief Uche Secondus, the National Vice Chairman of PDP, and some other PDP bigwigs, he was prevailed upon to follow his principal into APC.

“Engr Ikuru was asked to stay behind to monitor the activities of APC and most importantly to act as a mole for his uncle and plot the fall of APC in the State – a mission which he failed to accomplish because APC is not just a party in Rivers State but indeed a revolutionary movement fully embraced and jealously guarded by the people of the State.”

He added, “In keeping with the plot of making Ikuru the substantive Governor of Rivers State, PDP set in motion a machinery to use five misguided members of the State House of Assembly to impeach the Speaker, but the move was foiled by the Majority Leader, Hon. Chidi Lloyd, and other loyal members of the House.

The plan was that after impeaching the Speaker, the five renegade lawmakers would go ahead to impeach Governor Amaechi and subsequently declare Engr. Tele Ikuru as the substantive Governor.

“When this plot failed, Engr. Ikuru was asked to remain in APC in the hope that the Presidency would somehow find a way to force Gov. Amaechi out of office. As part of this plot, the Presidency contrived a crisis with regard to the appointment of a Chief Judge for the State but failed to actualise the appointment of Justice Daisy Okocha, who was expected to facilitate the impeachment of Gov Amaechi.

When this plot failed, PDP resorted to the mobilisation of ex-militants from Bayelsa and Rivers states to protest in the State in the hope that this would result in a insecurity crisis to be used as an excuse by the Presidency to declare a state of emergency in Rivers and impose Engr. Ikuru as Governor.”

“When this failed his uncle, Uche Secondus, advised him to stay on but this time to destabalise APC in his Andoni Local Government Area. Towards. this end, Engr. Ikuru pocketed hundreds of millions of naira meant for the development of the party in Andoni and threw in the towel as he was about to be called to account for anti-party activities.

We are, therefore, expectedly relieved by his exit and wish to call on our teeming supporters not to shed a tear as it will have no effect whatsoever on the fortunes of APC and its candidates in the forthcoming general elections in the State,” the statement concluded.

Governor Amaechi reacted yesterday. His statement was signed by the state’s commissioner for Information, Ibim Semenitari.

“The Rivers State Governor Rt. Hon Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi has only this evening received the news of the resignation of his Deputy Governor Engr Tele Ikuru from the All Progressives Congress. Whilst the news remains unofficial at this time as the Deputy Governor is yet to notify His Excellency the Governor of this move, Governor Amaechi however wishes Engr Ikuru all the best in his future political endeavours.

He however wishes to note that the reasons adduced by Engr Ikuru are shocking as Deputy Governor lkuru has consistently been the one driving political activities in his local government area of Andoni and has been the second in command driving politics and governance in Rivers state.

On a personal note, Governor Amaechi has accorded Engr Ikuru all the privileges and respect due the office of the Deputy Governor and has treated him with love as a friend brother. Though the Governor had hoped that the numerous rumors of Engr Ikuru’s double-faced membership of the APC and open romance with the PDP were not true.
He however appreciates the fact that every individual has a right to pursue his political dreams, as he deems most appropriate. It is however regrettable that Engr Ikuru has chosen the hdishonourable path of barefaced lies and name-calling rather than the more honourable path of simply retracing his steps to where he has always been.”

LoL! Ibrahimovic takes match ball on first class flight after scoring hat-trick

Paris Saint Germain striker, Zlatan Ibrahimovic isn’t only an amazing footballer/entrepreneur, he also has a great sense of humour. He’s produced a couple of hilarious and unforgettable on and off-field moments.
So the Swedish footballer scored a hat-trick last night in a 3-1 win over Lorient and decided to give his match ball a treat. Guess what he did, he put the ball on a first-class flight home. That wasn’t his first hat-trick though so that ball should consider itself extremely lucky.
He posted the picture on his instagram page with the caption. ‘For those of you who are wondering where the ball is…’

The AGN leadership tussle between Ibinabo Fiberesima and Emeka Ike is far from over.

The last has not been heard of the tussle between actress, Ibinabo Fiberesima and actor Emeka Ike over the leadership of the Actors Guild of Nigeria.
Few days ago, a Federal High Court in lagos voided the election of the ex-beauty queen as President of the Guild because the election was conducted against a standing court order.
Shortly after the verdict Emeka Ike reportedly told Ibinabo to vacate the seat within 24 hours or face another lawsuit.
Well, there’s a new development in the whole saga. A statement sent to me revealed that the latter planned to invade the National Headquarters of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) Surulere, Lagos on Friday 20th March 2015. Excerpts below
The actor, school administrator and politician had invited a cross session of the media and thespians loyal to him to attend his intended takeover of the mantle of leadership from the guild’s current President, Fiberisima Ibinabo.

After the purported overthrow, it was rumoured he would have addressed the media, stating his agenda for the association. Emeka Ike who had the record of court litigations against the headship of the AGN and its Board of Trustees (BOT ) had wanted to rely on the judgment of a Federal HighCourt’s nullification of the presidency of Ibinabo to assume the control of the actors body.

It would be recalled that Justice James Tsoho of the Federal High Court, Lagos had on Monday 15th March, 2015 declared the presiding of the affairs of the AGN by Ibinabo a nullity.
Thereafter, the BOT and the AGN proceeded to the Court of Appeal in Lagos to seek for a reversal of the judgment of JusticeTsoho.

They argued that the honorable judge erred in law in holding that the plaintiff, an expelled member of the guild, St. Maradona Mikevine Johnson has the locus standi to bring the action at the Federal High Court. But luck was against Emeke Ike as his efforts at storming the guild’s office were unfruitful.

While the crew of Channels TV and Silver Bird TV invited by Emeka came in as early as 10 am for the supposed events and met brick wall, correspondents from Television Continental (TVC) and The Sun Newspapers arrived at 12 noon with same fate.

Not even his lieutenants, Don Pedro Aganbi, Paul Obasele, Rachel Oniga and Frank Dallas were on hand to receive the press crew.

It was an upcoming  actor, Tupac that dared showed up; he was sent away by members of the AGN that were there to effect sanity.
He also sent members of the dreaded Odua People’s Congress (OPC) but they soft-pedaled after listening to the AGN;they left without any fuss.
Meanwhile at the close of the day, there were still indications that Emeka Ike mayre-strategise and launch his incursion on Monday, 23rd March, 2015. Attempts at getting him and his second- in -command; Don Pedro to speak on the issue was unsuccessful. The telephone lines of both men were switched off.”

March 28: The Known Devil or An Unknown Angel? | By: Olaniyan Olawale

Recently I was pondering over this popular proverb that states that “A devil you know is better than an angel you don’t know”. Personally, I do not agree completely with the saying, it sounds ironical because a devil is known for evil and an angel for righteous acts.
This saying might not be the perfect superlative to describe the political atmosphere in the country at the moment but it somehow relates to the situation of the nation right now.
There is no doubt the race to the Presidency is now between two men, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan; the incumbent president and C in C of the nation and General Muhammadu Buhari ;the tireless general, the general of the people as some address him.
Other presidential candidates exist according to INEC, the nation’s electoral body. It is extremely obvious that these candidates would become spectators come March 28 or probably they just want to add the title “2015 presidential aspirant” to their profile.
Firstly, let us take a look at the “devil we know” as stated in the first paragraph and of course it’s no other person than President Goodluck Jonathan. Though he didn’t spend much time as president after the demise of his late boss, Yar’Adua but a year and few months was not enough to boost his scorecard. We couldn’t differentiate the projects his boss initiated from his, that’s if there was any.
Hence, he won the hearts of the voters, some out of sympathy for the man who had no shoes. I still wonder if the “no shoes” theory is a real story or a kind of fable. Whichever it is, trust me Nigerians like such stories, they are mostly moved by the Grass to Grace ones, afterall that’s the storyline we see in nollywood movies almost every week and maybe that’s the kind of story that gives an average Nigerian a glimmer of hope that truly there is light at the end of every dark tunnel.
Also, some voted him based on his academic achievements. We have that belief that a doctorate degree holder; the highest academic degree would be able to provide profound solutions to the nation’s recurring problems. Most of us failed to acknowledge that academics and politics are two different things.
We were overwhelmed with the honour attributed to academics that we couldn’t notice the enormous differences between ideal paper work and real life situations. For example in ideal economics, purchasing fertilizers for farmers in large quatities should be at a lower cost than purchasing it individually but calculating from the real Nigerian situations and considering some factors an average reader should know the reverse is the case. The remaining votes were low for his main opponent then, this same General Muhammadu Buhari.
The last four years of president Jonathan’s tenure has arguably not been good enough probably because our expectations were high or probably because he didn’t gain enough experience while moving up the hierarchy of political power.
His acceleration to the apex was of high magnitude. Although top political analysts didn’t expect much from him, they predicted a government that would be directed by different forces. The President even at sometime admitted that he was confused by so many suggestions and pieces of advices from his cabinet.
Let us now move to the man who is the unknown angel for today; General Muhammadu Buhari. There isn’t much to say about him maybe because I wasn’t born during his era as military head of state but thank God for history books.
According to history, the General’s administration was quite controversial, while some stated that he only strict others said he excessively used the military power in the process of ensuring a disciplined and corruption free nation and some said he ruled with high level of integrity but I never heard of him being corrupt during his administration.
Finally, you’ll agree with me that the saying “it is better to deal with a known devil than to deal with an unknown angel” can’t be applied here because we might end up shooting ourselves in the foot. But it will surely be a factor we’ll consider before voting our choice candidate come march 28.

Governor Rotimi Amaechi's deputy defects to PDP

The deputy to Governor Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State, Mr Tele Ikuru has defected to opposition party, People’s Democratic Party. Ikuru in a statement today described the All Progressives Congress Party as one founded on deception and falsehood.

“My dear People of Rivers State, I bring you honest and sincere greetings. Today, I address you out of the fullness of my heart.
Recall that in December 2013, out of extreme loyalty to my boss and friend, I joined the APC, along with other then disillusioned Rivers People.

“Ever since, as the true nature and motives of APC are unveiled, I have continued to twist and turn in extreme mental and emotional agony. The more I struggle to
belong, the more the Rivers man in me rejects the APC.

“After carefully studying, interacting and analyzing the leadership of the party, I have come to the sad conclusion that the APC is a party of rebels, insurgents and anarchists, clothed in robes of pretence and deceit. APC is a party founded on deception and it thrives on unholy propaganda and falsehood. He said.
