Emmanuel Adebayor opens more can of worms on his family.

Togolese international, Emmanuel Adebayor is not done lifting the lid on his issues with his family members. Here’s the Part 2 of the “series” he aired on his facebook page few days ago. Read the Part 1  here

 “SEA, here is another part of the story I have kept inside since. Today I feel the constant need to let it out. If I share my stories, it is because I believe every story comes with a lesson. And the lesson is for anyone that is reading this. 


This is about a brother who keeps saying today that I am not a good support for our family. His name is Rotimi Adebayor. At the age of 13, he did something very bad. He and I know what he did. Because of that our parents had to send him to a village far from the big city.

When I started to be successful in football and I went to Togo for vacation; at that time one of my mother’s friend came from the village to visit us. As she explained how Rotimi was suffering in the village, I immediately asked them to bring him back into the city. As soon as he came back, I made sure I put him in school. For me that is normal.

In 2002, I went to play the AFCON in Mali and I had the huge privilege to swap my shirt with Marc-Vivien Foé. May his soul rest in peace. When I got back to Togo, I put that shirt in a secure place. My brother found a way to steal that shirt and sold it.


When I moved from Metz to Monaco, we reached an advanced stage in the Champions League and we played against Real Madrid. It was one of most beautiful day of my life because I was lucky enough to get a signed shirt from the football legend Zinedine Zidane. As I brought that shirt back to Togo, my brother still found a way to steal that shirt and sold it.


When I was in Metz, I was earning about €15,000 a month. I wanted to get something unique for my mom to thank her for all she did for me. I wanted to make her happy. So I decided to take an amount worth 3 months of my wages and I bought her a Cartier neckless for about €45,000. Rotimi and his friends Akim(@Yam Freedom) and Tao (@Sao Tao Oyawole) made a plan and stole that precious neckless. They sold it for about €800. 



When my mom and I found out, my mother asked me not to bother because he is the younger brother. Despite the situation, I would like to take this same occasion to wish all the mothers out there a Happy Mother’s Day!
In my house, I have a storage room where I keep some of my belongings when I travel back to Europe. I am the only one with that key but my brother managed to get a master key that was able to open every single door in the house. He frequently stole drinks and other items from that room.

After all this we kept saying”blood is thicker than water” and we moved on. Therefore, I decided to take him where I started my football in France. I brought him to a great football academy in France. You already know how this story ended. He stole cellphones from many of his teammates and they sacked him from the football academy. 



By the way, after I published the first story about him, he called me to say that he did not steal exactly 21 phones. He claimed that the number was lower than that. Still…Is that acceptable? He also added that I should be happy that he stole drinks and other items from my storage room. I asked him why and he replied: “Because I am your brother”.

Jacques Songo’o who is now a retired Cameroonian footballer also had his son in the academy and he was a good friend of Rotimi. Let me add that he was part of my development as a footballer and he always gave me good advices. I was in Togo on my days off when Songo’o called me; he sounded very angry. He explained to me how my brother stole his son’s PSP. When I asked my brother why he did that, he argued that he forgot it in his bag. How can you forget someone else’s device in your bag and travel with it from France to Togo? Since that day, my relationship with Songo’o changed and he has become pretty distant with me and my family.


I was still in Monaco when I decided to collect all football boots from my teammates so I could give them to people in Africa. I had a huge bag full of shoes. I brought that bag to Togo. A few days after when I decided to give the boots out to the people in need, I noticed the bag full of boots disappeared. Later on, I found out that my brother was the one who stole the bag and went to sell the shoes in Hedzranawoé (famous public market in Togo).


One day, my mom called me early in the morning when I was still in bed. She told me that Rotimi has gotten a Visa to go to Dubai so he can play football out there. He had to leave that day with his friend Kodjovi (@Denilson de Souza) who was in the same situation. It was either they went that day or the Visa would be suspended. I asked one of my guys at the time (@Agui Mozino) to go find tickets for my brother and his friend. We could not find any economy class ticket on that day so I had to get them both first class tickets. After all, it was an opportunity for him to make his own career in Dubai.


Only 4days later, Rotimi went back home. He explained how the lifestyle in Dubai was not made for him. He said he wasn’t free to do what he wanted to do because it is a strictly Muslim place. He couldn’t drink, party as much as he wanted or kiss girls in public.

Friends deserted me after my defeat – President Jonathan.

And that’s absolutely normal in life! Outgoing President Goodluck Jonathan during a farewell church service held in Abuja yesterday revealed that some of his friends, turned their backs against him shortly after he conceded defeat to General Muhammadu Buhari in the Presidential poll.

“Some hard decisions have their own costs. No doubt about that. It is a very costly decision but I must be very ready to pay for it. ‎If you take certain decisions, you should know that people close to you will even abandon you at some point. I tell people that more of my so-called friends will disappear.” He said.

President Jonathan said he’s not surprised by the actions of some defectors adding that former South African president Frederik de Klerk faced a similar situation.

“de Klerk’s marriage to his wife, Marike, broke down after he took that decision.‎But that is the only decision that made South Africa to still be a global player. If by this time we still have minority rule in South africa, nobody would have been talking about South Africa in the present generation,” he said.

Mourinho pays tribute to his favourite enemy, Steven Gerrard.

Chelsea manager, Jose Mourinho has paid tribute to Liverpool legend, Steven Gerrard whose 
Anfield career ended today.‎
The Special One heaped praises on the English footballer ahead of The Blues and Liverpool clash today and added that he will miss his favourite enemy who made him a “better manager”.
“My dear enemy, he has made me a better manager because to stop him has been very difficult,” Mourinho said.
The Portuguese also revealed that  he tried to sign him three times; at Stamford Bridge, Inter Milan and Real Madrid.

“It’s too late to sign him. He can’t play against Liverpool. He’s done an amazing career with his people. He refused to play in other big clubs, other big leagues, to play only for Liverpool and this is a feeling that stays together.

“Who knows if I’ll play against Steven as a Liverpool manager some day?” he concluded.

Gerrard’s spell at Liverpool has spanned nearly 17 years and included 10 trophies, 695 appearances and over180 goals. He’s signed for MLS side, LA Galaxy

Balotelli wants those of you mocking Boateng to remember this.

The past few days have been a bit traumatic for Bayern Munich’s  Jerome Boateng after his infamous slip beside Barcelona’s Lionel Messi during the Catalans’ 3-0 first-leg Champions League victory over Bayern Munich at the Camp Nou. 
The German has been the butt of jokes and subject of comical memes of football fans worldwide. Some even recreated the video of his shocking fall and shared it to the world. His reaction to the ridicule came in form of a meme posted to his ‘haters’ few days back.
Italian international, Mario Balotelli is one of the very few people who have (un)surprisingly come to his defence.

The Italian posted the above photo on his instagram page hitting back at Boateng’s critics.

He wrote: “@jeromeboateng many people take the piss but they might have forget few months ago he won this. Keep it up bro”

 



Who knows? This might be a subtle sub.

WHO declares Liberia Ebola-free

‎The World Health Organization (WHO) has finally declared Liberia free of the deadly Ebola virus. This development is coming after the country confirmed no new cases in 42 days. Over 4,000 people have died from the disease in the region, the last confirmed death was on 27 March.
President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf told the BBC. “We will celebrate our communities which have taken responsibility and participated in fighting this unknown enemy and finally we’ve crossed the Rubicon. Liberia indeed is a happy nation. It has been a terrible time in the history of our country.”

WHO has also warned that the EVD can be transmitted sexually. The organization has however urged survivors and sexual partners receive counselling. 

‎It said in a statement. “The sexual transmission of the Ebola Virus from males to females is a strong possibility, but has not yet been proven; less probable, but theoretically possible.



“Studies have shown that Ebola virus can be isolated from semen up to 82 days after symptom onset. A recent case investigation identified genetic material (RNA) from the virus by nucleic acid amplification tests (such as RT-PCR) 199 days after symptom onset.
“This is well beyond the period of virus detecting ability in the blood of survivors and long after recovery from illness.
“The detection of virus genetic material many months after symptom onset is assumed to reflect the continuing, or at least very recent, presence of live and potentially transmissible Ebola virus.”
“Ebola survivors and their sexual partners should either abstain from all types of sex or observe safe sex through correct and consistent condom use until their semen has twice tested negative.
“Having tested negative, survivors can safely resume normal sexual practices without fear of Ebola virus transmission.”

Bayern Munich boss, Pep Guardiola has agreed to coach Man City next season?

Bayern Munich coach, Pep Guardiola’s tenure at the German club is indeed coming to an end as he’s reportedly agreed to coach Premier League club, Manchester City next season.
It’s really been a bad week for the Spaniard. He lost 3 games in a tow, the first time the club has lost 3 without scoring in 15 years. Besides, rumour has it that his relationship with his players have gone from bad to worse.
According to reports, the former Barcelona handler has already signed a pre-contract to take over at the Etihad next season despite having one year left on his contract with Bayern.

Onyeka Onwenu and Patience Ozokwor reportedly at war over President Jonathan campaign funds

Celebrated entertainment personalities, Onyeka Onwenu and Patience Ozokwor are reportedly at daggers drawn over access to President Goodluck Jonathan’s campaign funds, ThisDay reports.
The print media outlet reported that things got so bad that the ‘One love’ crooner and Mama G as the latter is fondly called who have unfettered access to Aso Rock caused a scene at one of their meetings and openly abused each other.  Find Thisday’s report below.

“The fracas between the two Igbo women was not unconnected with who should control disbursement of the Jonathan campaign fund to a group of certain artistes. At one of the meetings, the centre just couldn’t hold any more and things fell apart. 

Onwenu and Ozokwor allegedly openly abused themselves and called each other names. It took the intervention of Dame Patience Jonathan to calm the fighting women. They simply respected her but have continued to trade tirade at every opportunity.”

"Peter Cech will stay, even against his will" Jose Mourinho

Chelsea boss, Jose Mourinho has revealed that skipper, Peter Cech will not move to another club at the end of the season.
Reports emanated this week that  Arsenal are interested in signing the Chelsea star at the end of the season but the Blues handler would not have him join any English club.
The out-of-favour custodian once revealed that, “As soon as the season is over, I’ll look to the future & just see what I want to decide. I don’t want to lose time on the bench”‎.
Seems Mourinho won’t let that happen.

He said: “One thing is Jose Mourinho and another is Mr

Abramovich and another thing it the board because the board ‎is a little bit of me and a little bit of other people. If it was me, if it was my decision the decision is Petr to stay. That’s it. It would be my decision for Petr to stay. Even

against his will. Yes! I think that the club is more important than the player and as was true this season the club needs two very good ‎goalkeepers.

“Without Petr this season I don’t think the club would be champions because he played six important matches in the Premier League and without these points we probably ‎wouldn’t be champions. But for me, decision number one, Petr will stay. After that, second point to go but not in England. The option I don’t want is for him to go to an English club.

He added that only the club can change his decision.
“But, I repeat, I am just the manager and he means so much for this club and what he did in this club I think he deserves ‎everything from this club. If the club decision is different to mine I will accept it.”

Singer, Etcetera says there's no way Dangote can buy Arsenal FC

You have sold some shares and you’ve got some money to spend. Now you want the ultimate: Your own football club. Hold on there, are you sure? Football clubs are a nightmare to run. 
In fact, almost two-thirds of premiership clubs have been in receivership at some point. Remember Portsmouth FC ploughed through four owners some seasons back and landed itself a debt of £60m and relegation in the Championship. 
Think of Leeds United’s tragicomic collapse; the balls-up at Cambridge United; Rotherham going into receivership in 2006 and 2008; Southampton’s sorry saga. And, of course, Crawley Town getting a winding up order years back. So, what do we know? Don’t buy a football club for the glory. So, before Dangote aspires to join Abrahamovic, Glazers and Al Mansours, he should make sure he knows his stuff.
But does Dangote know how much these football clubs really cost?
It is often mistaken that these clubs go for a quid. For instance, Swansea City was bought by investors for £100, and sold four years later for a £1. But beware: underneath those figures lies a pile of debt.
                                                                                           
Does Dangote have the cash, can he do an Abramovich?
No, he can’t. New UEFA Club Licensing and Financial Fair Play Regulations already in place, require clubs to balance their income and expenses. Dangote cannot operate under such rules. 
The premiership is too organised and transparent for any businessman to easily manipulate. The wage structure of footballers is too large for a businessman like Dangote to take on. 
Let us forget that those goons at Forbes have told us that Dangote is Africa’s richest man. As it stands, he cannot afford the outright purchase of a big football club like Arsenal. It is as simple as that. He will go broke. It is a possibility if we are talking about a club in the coast of West Africa. 
Dangote has most of his wealth in shares and physical assets and the football business requires liquid cash to sustain. Have we all forgotten that the same Dangote got a 3G licence and sold it to Etisalat? He is a very smart businessman who knows how to pick his areas of investments.
Can he get Bank backing?
Unlikely! No serious private equity firm would get involved with a football club. They are not proper businesses. Too much politics, too many egos. And there’s no proper exit route – the history of football clubs on the stock market is chequered, to say the least. They are rich men’s toys, great for entertaining your mates, and that’s about it. I don’t think Dangote can afford such an expensive toy.
A lot of people think it is relatively easy to make a million pounds by being the owner of a football club. That all you have to do is put in that first two million pounds. But these people should also know that since the English Premier League was formed in 1992, football finances have dried up to the extent that making a million pound profit is no longer a walk in the park. It is also the case that buying a football club is unlikely to yield that much of a return. 
Despite the significant TV and other commercial revenues, football clubs in England’s top flight still struggle to break even. This is ironic, given the goal of setting up the Premier League was to stabilise club finances.
Is Dangote putting his heart over his head?
Yes I think so. Simon Jordan, in his autobiography, tells the story of how owning a football club can go terribly wrong. Jordan amassed a fortune of £75m in the early days of the mobile phone revolution. In 2000, he paid £10m to take control of South London football team Crystal Palace, becoming the youngest football club chairman at the age of 32. He was warned by many not to do it, but having watched the club since his childhood, he could not resist. 
Fast-forward 10 years and the club was in administration and Jordan’s personal wealth largely wiped out. It is reported that Roman Abramovich, the Russian owner of Chelsea, has written off more than one billion pounds he ploughed into the club since acquiring it in 2003. Catching him up fast is Sheikh Mansour from Abu Dhabi, who has invested close to one billion pounds in Manchester City since 2008. Can Dangote write off such a huge amount of money? 
It is in fact the amount of money he borrows to invest in businesses. But again, I think Dangote is just trying to hype himself. Most of the serious money flowing into football recently has come from the Middle East. The Qatar Investment Authority (the country’s sovereign wealth fund) bought the French Ligue 1 side Paris St Germain in 2011 and has gone about transforming them in the same way Sheikh Mansour has Manchester City. Forget those guys at Forbes, Dangote is not in the same league as these guys.
The Glazer Family bought Manchester United in 2006, recognising the immense value of its global brand as a cash generator and the opportunities to enhance it even further. The cost of buying the club was loaded on to the club itself, with the revenues it generates used to pay the debt and interest that the Glazers undertook to buy the club. Eventually, the hope is that the club will essentially pay for itself leaving its American owners in possession of a multi-billion pound asset but till date, the Glazers are still gnashing their teeth and are still neck deep in debt. 
When it was speculated that a Middle East consortium was willing to pay £1.5bn for Arsenal Football Club, it was stated that Stan Kroenke, the American who owns about 63 per cent of the shares in the club, would have made just £400m on his shares. So, given the appalling financial returns, why do people buy football clubs?
Who can buy Arsenal football club?
Anyone can buy Arsenal football club, but that anyone doesn’t include anyone who obtains bank loans to fund a business. Sir John Madejski, chairman of Reading Football Club, describes the ideal football club owner as having deep pockets, mercurial, and not faint-hearted.
