Cristiano Ronaldo & Zlatan Ibrahimovic to unveil signature fragrances

It is bursting at the seams for Cristiano Ronaldo. Less than two weeks after he released his own video game app  and launched his foot wear line few months ago, the Portugal soccer star is about releasing his signature fragrance.
Can we suggest a name for the fragrance? CR7 Fragrance comes close.
“I will be releasing my very own fragrance later this Summer. How exciting! More news soon!” He announced on his official twitter page.
The Real Madrid talisman’s announcement comes two days after Zlatan Ibrahimovic revealed his own plan to release his fragrance.
He shared a picture on twitter and captioned it thus, “A sneak preview of something I’ve been working on for the past 2 years. Something I’m very proud of. So stay tuned”

Unpaid Salaries: The face-off between Aregbesola and Ben Bruce continues.

The last has certainly not been heard of the clash between Osun State Governor, Mr. Rauf Aregbesola, and the Senator representing Bayelsa-East senatorial district, Mr. Ben Murray-Bruce over the unpaid salary situation in Osun State.
The problem started after Murray-Bruce tweeted that that he would donate his wardrobe allowance of over N500,000 to the unpaid workers in the state.

“I, Ben Murray-Bruce, will not sit down idly while my fellow citizens die because salaries have not been paid. As a first step, I am immediately donating my wardrobe allowance to unpaid workers in Osun State and widows in my constituency.

“We are starting in Osun but we will not end there. I will do as much to help workers who have not been paid in other states. I call on all my friends and followers on Facebook and Twitter to donate non-perishable food items for these our brothers in need.
“As soon as my wardrobe allowance is paid, half will be publicly given to the NLC chairman in Osun State while the other half will be given to the head of widows association in my community of Akasa.”He wrote.

That didn’t sit well with the Governor and he wondered why he singled out Osun State out of the states affected. In a statement released by the Director Bureau of Communication and Strategy Office, Mr. Semiu Okanlawon said  it was unfortunate that the senator could trivialise the issue.

“My attention has been drawn to a tweet by a member of upper chamber of the National Assembly, Senator Ben Murray-Bruce, of the PDP from Bayelsa, saying he will not reject the alleged hefty pay for members of the National Assembly but collect it and donate to Osun workers.

“It is saddening and tragic that Mr. Murray-Bruce whom many had accorded a lot of respect is too early in the day joining the fray of politicisation and trivialising the salary issue affecting more than half of the states of the federation in this ridiculous manner.
“While Nigerians are in hot debate over the alleged jumbo pay and the mood of the country, Murray-Bruce seems to have turned the plight of Nigerian workers to a thing of entertainment. Of all the states in the federation who are battling to pay salaries as a result of the precarious economic situation his party, the PDP, threw Nigeria, why is it that it is Osun he wants to take his pay to?”

‎The lawmaker has said in the spirit of Ramadan period observed by Muslims over the world, he would not respond to the criticisms directed at him.‎

“I’ll take whatever attacks come my way but nothing & nobody can dissuade me from doing what my conscience directs in helping my fellow man.

The month of Ramadan is here. Many unpaid workers will fast. With what will they break their fast? I thought of that and it moved me to act.
I may not be a Muslim, but I respect Islam and I believe that it is wrong for me to respond to any attack during the Holy month of Ramadan.
I wish the Muslim Ummah a successful fast. Please pray for God’s intervention in Nigeria so that peace may return. Ramadan Kareem, “ he wrote on twitter.

"My late father convinced me to join Eagles. I will miss him." Emenike

Eagles striker Emmanuel Emenike has revealed that his late father, Felix Ndukwu Emenike, convinced him to join the Super Eagles. The Fenerbahce forward who buries his patriarch today at Imo State recalled fond memories of him.

“I will miss my father for his advice. He was the one who compelled me to play for Nigeria as he warned me not to honour invitation to play for any country no matter what. He told me I will be great, and after the AFCON 2013, he asked‎ me if I regretted playing for Nigeria, I just smiled and said ‘no’.”

He continued: “He always showed me the right way, and I have never regretted any of his advice. This is a man who has seen a brighter future for me and he always told me, my life begins after football. My elder brothers and the people in the community convinced him to let me choose football. He blessed my first trip to South Africa, and today I am living in his blessings. But I am sad he’s
gone!”

Buhari orders the disposal of 9 Presidential aircrafts

  1. President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered the disposal of 9 VIP Presidential aircrafts to reduce maintenance costs. An Aviation source who disclosed this to ThisDay added that about N9billion is being spent on maintenance every year.
  2. The jet which is registered as Nigerian Air Force aircraft, is one of the largest in Africa and the third largest in Nigeria after Arik Air and Aerocontractors.
  3. “Nine, which still have market value, are to be sold immediately to reduce maintenance costs. For years, the federal government has spent over N12 billion annually for the maintenance of the presidential fleet.” The source said.

Ambode approves the construction of pedestrian bridge at Berger

It is long overdue. The number of deaths recorded at that Berger road is high. In a bid to curb traffic menace in the state, Lagos State Governor Akinwunmi Ambode has approved the construction of a pedestrian bridge at Ojodu Berger Bus Stop.

“We have seen that Berger needs a foot bridge and immediately the engineers are going to go to work and we will make sure that we put something there.

“In addition to the footbridge, the state government would also ensure that it makes the road free at all times, because whatever happens there, will have a backlash on the 3rd Mainland bridge which can even extend to the Oworonshoki end,” Ambode said.

Speaking, yesterday after inspecting Dopemu in Agbado Oke-Odo Local Council Development Area, Ambode added that, ‎”We’ve been to 3rd Mainland, Oworonshoki, Ketu, Abule-Egba, Alimosho and Mile 12. That’s not the end of the story. We’re still going to Apapa and Mile 2. The truth is that we must start to have solutions to our traffic challenges in the state and that’s what we are doing.

“I have here with me, heads of agencies that are concerned with the traffic situation. I like them to speak to you directly and let you know that we are together as a team, you are going to start seeing solutions to the traffic challenges soon.
“It’s not enough for us to stay in our offices believing that we can find solutions to the traffic challenges of the state. So, we decided to go round to see how we can improve on the worsening traffic.
“What we have done in the last three hours is to show that we are greatly concerned about the traffic gridlock that we have been experiencing in the last few months.”

‎Emeka hurried into the airport lounge, his travel bag slung over his shoulder, he headed straight to the counter, flashed a smile and tendered his ticket. He checked his wrist watch, it was 6:45am.
“I’m sorry sir, the flight has been cancelled.” The female passenger ‎Sales officer announced.
The news hit him like‎ a falling building . “What do you mean by the flight has been cancelled? Is this a sort of joke?”
“I’m sorry sir, we got the information minutes ago”. She replied instantly.
Emeka stared down at  her with a bewildered expression.‎ “How? …how on earth would you do this? you guys told me to be here by 7am and now the flight is cancelled? You weren’t even decent enough to inform us about the new development. Why was it cancelled if I may ask?”
“I don’t know sir. “ She retorted looking away. Emeka felt a storm rise in her. “What sort of stupid airline is this? I have a meeting for 12 in Port Harcourt for Christ sake. If I had boarded a night bus, I for don reach now?” ‎The roar in his voice alerted other passengers who queued behind him. They learnt about the development, joined him at the front of the counter and added their voices to the chorus of condemnation.
The PSO excused herself and returned with an elderly man who led about 10 of them into an office. He calmly explained that the management of the airline were having internal issues and that had affected their flight’s operation. He collected their tickets and promised to arrange another flight for them as soon as possible.
” Sir pls can you make this very fast? I have a business meeting for 12 pm. Pls, can you sort us out in like an hour’s time. I beg you.” Emeka pleaded. The man nodded in the affirmative.
They trooped out of the room one after the other and occupied the large empty metal seats at the middle of the airport lounge. Emeka checked his watch again, it was 7:40am. Why hadn’t he boarded a night bus or booked another airline? He shook his head, stood up and headed to Soar Airlines’ stand.
“Pls do you have a flight for Lagos to Port Harcourt today and pls what time’
‘A minute pls!’ The ticketing officer tapped her keyboard and mouse and fixed her eyes on the computer.  “There’s a flight for 9:30am to 10:40am. There are no first class seats and economy seats, the business seat goes for N51,000”. ‎
‘N51,000?’ He uttered in disbelief and walked slowly to other Airline stands. They all had no morning flights. He returned to his seat slowly and prayed that the alternative arrangement will be in his favour. He picked a newspaper and dropped it instantly, removed his phone from his back pocket, scrolled through the menu and locked it.
After about an hour, the elderly man returned clutching some tickets. “Is everyone here?”
“Yes” they answered in unison.
” We just made an arrangement with Pacific Airlines for 4 o’ clock.”
“4 o’ clock?” they ‎screamed and murmured. “O my God?”. Emeka’s voice roared again. “You guys have succeeded in ruining my day and destabilising my plans. Pls sir, is there any way you can fix us with Soar Airlines, it leaves 2 hours time or thereabout.’

The man apologised again. “We made enquiries about it but there are no economy seats”.

“I don’t mind adding extra cash pls. I just must leave with that airline”.

‘That won’t be possible sir. We are deeply sorry for inconveniences. We regret it’. He distributed the tickets  and walked away.  Emeka hissed repeatedly and tucked his at the back of his trousers.  There was no way he would wait till 4 o’clock. He brought out his phone and dialled some numbers.
“Hi Charles, I need your help Pls can I get about N51,000 from you now. I will return it as soon as I get to PH today. I forgot my second ATM card at home. Pls you’ll get your cash as soon as I land. Pls”
Charles asked for his account no and informed him minutes later that he had sent it through online transfer. 15 minutes after he returned from the ATM point, he called back.
“Guy, I never see alert o and I just checked my balance at the ATM.”
” Maybe it’s the network at your end. I’m sure you’ll get it soon. “Charles replied.
20 minutes later, he withdrew the cash and quickly joined the queue  at the Soar Airlines stand again. He got to his turn and announced he wanted a ticket for Port Harcourt.

“Port Harcourt is no more available”. The news came as a bitter blow.‎

He swallowed hard and begged.”Pls I beg you, I was the one who spoke to you like an hour ago and you told me there were….”
” I know but there’s nothing I can do. It closed 5minutes ago.” she interrupted.

“5 minutes? Pls I beg you with the name of God, this trip is very important to me…”‎

” Gentleman, passengers are being checked in as we speak. There’s nothing we can do about it. Next customer pls”.

The sadness in his face was unmistakable. The meeting he was to attend was set up to finalise a contract he had been pursuing for months. He was to supply chemicals and equipment worth about N7million to a newly-built hospital in Port Harcourt. He sighed heavily. His eyes were laced with pain. Who misses that kind of juicy deal? He went back to his seat, stood up immediately and told the man sitting close to him he was visiting a nearby eatery.
He had consumed the fried rice he had bought and was about ordering for snacks when a breaking news‎ appeared on the screen of the TV before him.
Everyone in the eatery screamed after reading the caption.
“Port-Harcourt- bound Soar Airline flight crashes15 minutes after take-off.”

Didier Drogba's Chelsea shirt sold for $7,500 in Abidjan

I was shocked for several minutes. Why will anyone buy a jersey for $7,500? Was it made of diamonds or what? Alas it was sold for a cause, a worthy cause.
Didier Drogba Chelsea shirt was
auctioned for $7,500 in Abidjan to raise funds for Salomon Kalou Foundation. The foundation is building a private hospital in the African country to treat kidney diseases.

“Didier Drogba is a good person. When I arrived at Chelsea, I
was just 20 years old. And we all know that at that young age earning big money could be a problem. But Drogba was always there to counsel and guide me. Drogba is a very humble person. He has always been there for me. I owe him a lot.”‎ Kalou said.
The 29 year-old also donated $25,000 to his foundation. Asides the jersey, Drogba made a donation of a dialysis machine
worth $50,000. His fellow countrymen, Gervinho and Yaya Toure also contributed their quota.
Their jerseys were auctioned for $850 and $3,500 respectively.

Wow! Astronomers name galaxy after Cristiano Ronaldo.

Lionel Messi fans would do some pretty hard work to do that. That’s some feat on Cristiano Ronaldo’s part.

A group of astronomers have discovered one of the oldest known galaxies in the universe and named it after Real Madrid star, Cristiano Ronaldo. The honour was bestowed on him by the European Southern Observatory (ESO.)

The newly-christened CR7 galaxy has been described as “by far the brightest galaxy yet found in the early Universe.”‎ The lead astronomer, who hails from Ronaldo’s native Portugal, cited Cristiano as inspiration for the galaxy’s name.

Where Are The Emergency Contraceptives | By: Dr Femi Ajose

Bisola a 22 year-old 200L Economics student in a reputable Nigerian University, a promising emerging professional in the finance sector  was accompanied into the hospital by her friend.
She looked too frail. It was obvious she needed urgent help. We admitted her immediately and ran some laboratory and radiological investigations. Her PCV came out so bad,10% (normal is between 38-50%). The scan revealed massive putrefaction in the uterus (rottened baby). She knew she was doomed!

I asked her few questions and she revealed she got pregnant for a sugar daddy who ran away immediately he found out. She consulted some seemingly ignorant friends who gave her two options.

To get rid of the pregnancy or keep it.

The thoughts of keeping it drove her crazy. She opted for the other option. Too bad, she did it the wrong way. She reportedly took several doses of Ampiclox and unguided doses of hot gin (ogogoro) for over a week. The pregnancy didn’t come down but the baby had died inside of her.

You know what it feels carrying a dead baby in your womb? The dead foetus had given a good medium for overwhelming infections all over her body and killing her softly too.

Three things could save Bisola:
*Money to buy more blood
*Money to get high grade antibiotics
*And God!

Unfortunately she couldn’t get a dime to bail herself. All efforts to reach her relatives kissed the dust.
Bisola died after rigorous rescucitative efforts. We lost another captain of industry!

Where are the Emergency contraceptives?

Contraceptives are also know as birth control methods or devices used to prevent unwanted pregnancies and some by extension STDS.

Emergency contraceptives are therefore birth control methods or devices that prevents unwanted pregnancies during, immediately after and few days after sexual intercourse.

Contraceptives have been in use since ancient times but some cultures limit or discourage access to birth control because they consider it to be morally, religiously or politically undesirable.

WHAT ARE THE TYPES/DEVICES/METHODS OF EMERGENCY CONTRACEPTIVES?
1. Post-Coital Contraception “After intercourse” – ‎After a single act of unprotected intercourse, the risk of pregnancy can be as high as 30% depending on when in the menstrual cycle the intercourse occurs amongst other factors. Post coital contraception sometimes referred to as “morning after” provides a second chance for a woman who has had unprotected sexual intercourse and who’s afraid of unwanted pregnancy.

The popular one is the postinor and postinor 2. Kindly consult your doctor for dosage.

The merits of the pills outweigh the demerits but like the proverbial dictum; Let everything be done in moderation.

2. Barrier Method Of Contraception. ‎

Male Method:
Globally, condoms are the most common method of contraception. Modern condoms often made from latex have been available since the 19th century. They are also popular in reducing both unwanted pregnancy and STDS.

Couples using condoms should also be aware of the need for emergency contraceptive pills should the condom break or slip during sex of potentially fertile period. The major drawback is that it may interfere with spontaneity of sexual act, reduce sensation during intercourse. But the perils of STDS and unwanted pregnancies outweigh the drawbacks.

Female Condoms  ‎
The female barrier condom, femidom, though not popularly in use is a disposable, polyurethane sac with an outer ring at level of introitus and a looser inner vaginal ring. Their typical failure rate is about 21% hence need for pills. The female condom can be inserted up to 2-3hrs before sex to allow more spontaneity. It is cheap and readily available like the male condom.

3. Coitus interrupts “The withdrawal method”
This is the practise of ending sexual intercourse “pulling out” the erect penis before ejaculation. The main risk of the withdrawal is that the man may get carried away with the pleasure as most times is the case, not to perform the maneuver correctly in a correctly or in a timing manner. This is a risky one as the sperm content of the pre-ejaculatory fluid is still arguably to be connected to fertility. If the timing is right, then the chances are increased, but not absolutely.

4. Abstinence ‎
This method is without a device. It is practised such that the persons abstain either totally from intercourse or during the unsafe period.

But if you no fit hold body,go wear raincoat.

Conclusively some young ladies have abused contraception, even some have formed their own contraception.

Hot gin is NEVER a form of contraception. This act leads to danger has we have read. If you MUST have unprotected sex, pls be “protected”.
