Nigeria international, Kelechi Iheanacho can do no wrong at the moment. The Manchester City player is trending for all the right reasons. The 19 year-old  scored his first hat-trick for the club as they beat Aston Villa 4-0 to move to the next round of the FA Cup.

Chelsea sign Matt Miazga from New York Red Bulls.

Chelsea have announced the signing of Matt Miazga from  Major League Soccer’s New York Red Bulls. The 20-year-old centre-back who penned a four-and-a-half-year contract with the Blues.
He told the club website. “I am very happy to sign for Chelsea, a world famous club with a reputation for major success.I am delighted to be in the Premier League, the best league in the world, and can’t wait to meet my team-mates and get going. 
“I am still at the beginning of my career but I believe this is the place to develop and learn from some of the best players in the world.”

Wait! Olumofin brothers asked to leave Tunde and Toolz's wedding???

The Olumofin brothers, Joro and Dokun, no longer need introduction. These two men became extra popular this week after lambasting a popular OAP, Gbemi Olateru-Olagbegi who called them out for crashing society weddings and further  tagged them social climbers. Ijnfact, she accused them of scrambling for invites for Tunde and Tolu ‘Toolz’s wedding. It was a messy encounter….
Anyways, the brothers made it to the wedding and they turned out turnt! The report just coming in is that they have been asked to leave the ceremony by the couple’s parents..

Stephanie Linus' movie, 'DRY' to screen at the 24th PAN African Film Festival

After screening around the world, drawing attention while shining light on controversy and receiving acknowledgement from world leaders, Stephanie Linus’ recent production ‘DRY’ has been selected to screen at the largest and most prestigious black film festival in America – the Pan African Film Festival (PAFF). Also called the quintessential Black festival, PAFF is the largest event during Black History Month, celebrated in the U.S. every February and is scheduled to take place from February 4th –15th in Los Angeles.

Henson and a host of other extraordinary industry professionals both in front and behind camera are amongst those who have been honored by this prestigious festival. ‘DRY’ will be screened on Sunday, February 7th, Saturday, February 13th and Monday, February 15th. 
Produced, directed, and starring Nollywood’s A-List actress, Stephanie Linus, the film is an inspired true story that depicts the life of two young girls living as child brides in West Africa. The movie focuses on child marriage and Vesico Vaginal Fistula (VVF), journeying into the heart-wrenching details of a culture not too many films dare to explore.
The film stars: Darwin Shaw as Dr. Alex, the legendary Liz Benson Ameye as the Matron, Bill McNamara as Dr. Brown, and Introducing Zubaida Ibrahim Fagge as Halima the teenager who had to endure a life not designed for a child.

Meet Chelsea's new signing, Alexandre Pato

Brazilian footballer, Alexandre Pato has joined Chelsea FC on a six-month loan move from Corinthians the reigning champions have announced. The 26 year-old who was pictured in London on Tuesday has 27 caps and 10 goals for his country and scored 19 times in 59 league games for Corinthians.
“I am so happy to sign for Chelsea. It is a dream for me. I am looking forward to meeting and getting to know my new teammates and cannot wait to play. “I thank Chelsea for their support and hope I can repay this faith to the club and its fans.”

For several months, Nigerian wonderkids, Kelechi Nwakali and Samuel Chukwueze have been linked to a move to Arsenal. Going by this picture, which shows them posing with African football legend, Kanu Nwankwo, Arsenal coach, Arsene Wenger and CEO, Ivan Gazidis, seems their move has been finalized. The picture was shared by sports journalist, Colin Udoh this morning.   The duo made lasting impressions on the international tournament scene (U-17 World Cup in Chile in 2015.) 

Atletico & Real Madrid transfer bans suspended


The Appeal Committee of FIFA has suspended the transfer bans placed on Spanish outfits, Real and Atletico Madrid. Few weeks ago, both clubs were found to have violated several provisions concerning the international transfer and first registration of minor players and were also fined  900,000 and 360,000 Swiss francs respectively.

FIFA has however granted the probationary suspension of the sanction pending the outcome of the appeal.

Nigerian wonderkid, Kelechi Nwakali is in London to complete a move to Arsenal FC. The attacking midfielder who earned the player of the tournament award at the 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup has reportedly agreed a 4 year contract with the club & will have his medical in London before Sunday. He will be be paid around £5m.

“I am going to Arsenal to work and try to be the best I can, With God anything is possible, to work hard to justify my claim for first team football.”  He told Nigerian Tribune. 
The 17 year-old has also picked the no 25 shirt of Gunners legend, Nwankwo Kanu.

Tributes pour in for Nemanja Vidic after announcing retirement from football

Football fans over the globe, soccer stars, football fans, colleagues and Manchester United legends have paid tributes to former Manchester United defender, Nemanja Vidic who called time on his injury-plagued career today. 

“The time has come for me to hang up my boots. The injuries I have had in the last few years have taken their toll. I would like to thank all the players I have played with, all the managers and staff I have worked with, and say a big ‘thank you’ to the fans for their support over the years.” The Serbian wrote on Manchester United website.

The 34 year-old  won five Premier League titles and a Champions League with the Red Devils.
