Gender Equality : Uche Jombo disagrees with Ooni of Ife’s wife

Actress and producer, Uche Jombo has reacted strongly to Ooni of Ife’s wife opinion on gender equality.  Speaking over the weekend in an Emerging Women’s Forum in Maryland, USA, the monarch’s wife opined that men and women can’t be equal because each gender play different roles in life. ..

Read Uche Combo reaction to Olori Wuraola-Zynab Ogunwusi’s sentiment below :

‘Dear Olori, The reason you can hold a microphone and speak in public rather than at the backyard of the palace cooking jollof rice while your husband travels the world, is because of women like you who fought for us to live life and enjoy it equally like anyone else.

‘Your Royal Highness, do not be deceived, your belief in this revolution has absolutely no bearing in its movement. Stand tall, behind the king, watch as more women understand this concept, watch as they break the glass ceiling, reaching straight for the moon… and beyond…in their Louboutins.

‘If I work for 3 hours and a man works for 3 hours, we both deserve to get paid the same,’ and ‘If a man’s virginity cannot be tested on the wedding night, mine shouldn’t be tested as well’ are some of the points the actress used to drive home her call for equality.
FYI let’s not mistake gender roles for gender equality. I believe she was clearly talking about roles / responsibilities as a woman hence my repost about learning the right meaning of Gender equality.’

Puma releases statement on Switzerland torn shirts issues

Sport wear company, Puma have released a statement, apologising to Switzerland over their ripped shirts issues last night. Recall that four of their shirts were ripped during the Swiss’0-0 draw with France. The company however blamed the torn-shirt farce on defective material.

Sports company PUMA has immediately started to investigate why football jerseys of the Swiss National team tore when grabbed and pulled by opponents during the UEFA EURO game “France – Switzerland” on Sunday evening.

PUMA’s primary concern is to always ensure superior quality standards and next to Switzerland, PUMA equips four further national teams at the UEFA EURO 2016 (Austria, Czech Republic, Italy, and Slovakia). In all of these teams, players wear PUMA’s jerseys with the same ACTV Thermo-R technology. All federations have confirmed that they never had any such issues and are very happy with quality, functionality and design of their jerseys.

Our analysis of the Swiss Home jersey from Sunday’s game shows that there was one batch of material, where yarns had been damaged during the production process, leading to a weakening in the final garment. This can happen, if the combination of heat, pressure and time is not properly controlled in the manufacturing process. The tight fitting ACTV jerseys are made of an elastane and polyester material mix. The defective material was used in only a limited number of Swiss home jerseys.

PUMA has checked the inventory of all jerseys of all PUMA teams and can assure that such an unfortunate incident does not happen again. PUMA’s national team jerseys for the EURO 2016 are manufactured in Turkey.

The ACTV Thermo-R technology helps players to maintain an optimum body temperature through a unique phase-change material injected into the shirt’s inner athletic taping, strategically inserted in the front and back of the shirt. It has successfully been used in national and club team jerseys since March 2014 and worn during the World Cup and subsequent club season.

This was a very unfortunate incident and PUMA apologizes to the Swiss federation and their players.”

It shouldn’t go unnoticed the amount of young players he’s introduced into the squad over the last four years. There was a big issue in terms of everyone saying we didn’t have the young players coming through in England which other countries had. In fairness to the Premier League clubs they’ve brought young players through and Roy has picked them.

He continued, ‘In my opinion he has not only created a very good team but also a fantastic atmosphere around the training ground when we meet up, and a great base for England’s future in the next six to eight years.’
