Arsenal coach, Arsene Wenger has ruled himself out of France coaching job The Frenchman who confirmed he received managerial offers from France is entering into the last year of his contract at Arsenal. 
Asked if he would still consider the offer. The 66 year-old told BeIn Sports, ‘The time has gone. I have been asked before but was always busy.’

Ibrahimovic pays tribute to himself upon retirement.

Sweden soccer star, Ibrahimovic has penned a tribute to himself upon his retirement from international duty. The former PSG striker played his final game for his country last night as Sweden got eliminated from  Euro 2016 following their loss to Belgium. The Manchester United target who scored 62 goals for the national team couldn’t find the net in the tournament. 

“I came from this place people call “ghetto Rosengard”, conquered Sweden and made it my country.

2face Idibia's works to be unveiled at the Grammy Museum's new exhibit.

Legendary musician, Innocent ‘2baba’ Idibia will have his works are unveiled at the Grammy Museum’s new exhibit dubbed “Sounds of Africa”. The event which will  focus on displaying and celebrating legacies in the African music industry will feature other legendary acts like Angelique Kidjo, Salif Keith, Mafikizolo among others. These artistes who are also winners of Grammy awards and BET awards respectively, are being celebrated for their creative process as well as the art/ technology of their recording process.

The event which is put together by Grammy Museum and Black Entertainment Television (BET) will hold on the 24th of June, 2016 and will be on temporary display till the end of the year. The exhibition will feature handwritten lyrics, costumes, and an array of rare musical instruments. Other legendary artistes on exhibition include Nigerian visual artist Laolu Senbanjo, Nigerian singer/ songwriter Sir Victor Uwaifo, Ice Prince and Congolese rumba singer/songwriter Tabu Ley Rochereau.

Jamie Vardy signs new deal with Leicester City

Leicester City and England striker, Jamie Vardy have agreed a new deal. The club has announced. This rumours of his purported move to Arsenal have now been laid to rest.
“Leicester City have today (Thursday) agreed with the representatives of Jamie Vardy to extend the England international’s contract with the Premier League champions for a further four years,” read a statement on the club’s official website.
“Both parties hope that this announcement will end recent speculation regarding Jamie’s future and confirm his long term commitment to Leicester City Football Club.”

Cristiano Ronaldo breaks record for most European Championship appearances

Portuguese soccer giant, Cristiano Ronaldo has broken the record for the most European Championship appearances. The Real Madrid forward recorded this feat after he was named in the starting line-up for Portugal against Hungary. 
The 31 year-old who made his 17th appearance in the tournament surpassed Edwin van der Sar and Lilian Thuram’s 16 appearances. In a new development, the 3-time Ballon D’or winner netted twice against Hungary, he has now become the first player to score in four EURO tournaments. He now has a total of 8 Euro goals.

Nigerian DJ on course to break Guinness World Record.

Award-winning Nigerian Disc Jockey, Obi Ajuonuma, fondly called DJ Obi has unveiled plans to embark on a 10-day challenge to break the Guinness World Record for Longest DJ Set. The current record for Longest DJ Set is 200 hours and was set by Norberth Selmaj aka Temple Bar in Dublin, Ireland on November 19, 2014. 

DJ Obi intends to surpass Norbert’s record with a continuous 240-hour set. The event will kick off today, June 22, 2016, by 10 p.m and will run through to July 1, 2016. It will be held at the Sao Café, Lekki Phase 1, Lagos, Nigeria. 

“This is a dream that we’ve been working on for over eight months. It means a lot to me and there’s no better way to show the world that Nigerian DJs are a force. I’m excited the day to finally get started is here. Lagos , I need your love and support so please come through to Sao Café. And all my Nigerians please hit me up on social media. Let’s go!” he said.

Argentine legend, Batistuta hurt by Messi’s new goalscoring record.

Lionel Messi scored and recorded two assists as Argentina routed the United States 4-0 in the Copa America semi-final. The Barcelona forward who eclipsed ex Argentina international, Gabriel Batistuta’s 54 goals is now Argentina’s all-time highest goalscorer with 55 goals. Batistuta has however admitted he’s a bit hurt by Messi’s new feat.
“I came to be the highest goalscorer of all time without even realising. One day I woke up and I heard I had scored more than Maradona. It wasn’t a goal I set for myself. It wasn’t an objective or an obsession, because I never cared about statistics. How could it not hurt me to see that record be broken? It is going to hurt when Messi breaks my record, but we are not talking about being beaten by any terrestrial being,” the 47-year-old stated.

Angry Cristiano Ronaldo throws reporter's microphone into the lake.


Ahead of Portugal’s match with Hungary at Euro 2016, the Portugal squad took a morning stroll in the gardens of their hotel complex, and a reporter approached Cristiano Ronaldo to ask him if he was ready for tonight’s game. The influential footballer grabbed the reporter’s microphone and threw it inside the lake.
The reporter didn’t go overboard with the question but before you pick the gavel, there’s more to the story.

Ronaldo and the media house the reporter works for, CMTV to be precise have a long-standing feud. According to reliable sources, the TV station wrote a lot of slanderous reports about him and his family so much that he sued them and won the case. In 2014, the Real Madrid talisman refused to answer a question from a CMTV journalist in a post match conference.

But the truth is that wasn’t a proper conduct. Whatever happened to ignoring the journalist?
