LAGOS STATE VERSION OF MONOPOLY GAME LAUNCHED

Good news to all monopoly game addicts. Lagos state has gotten their own version of the game and it is the first city in Africa to have a monopoly edition. So features like Kent, Oxford street etc will be replaced by Banana Island, Makoko and many more.

4,000 people bought the game within 24 hours of its release. Speaking at the unveiling which was done last week, Nimi Akinkugbe, head of Bestman Games which is distributing the Lagos edition stated that

"South Africa and Morocco have a version of Monopoly, but Lagos is the only city in the continent to have its own edition.

gives us an opportunity to educate the public about certain things, penalizing negative behavior and rewarding good behavior but in a fun and enjoyable way."

Some of the cards in the game read:

"You've been caught driving against traffic. Report for psychiatric evaluation,"

Another card reads: "For using the overhead pedestrian bridge on Worodu Road, move forward three spaces."

"For attempting to bribe a law enforcement agent, pay a fine."

"Thousands of Nigerian families are going to be playing Monopoly over Christmas, having a good laugh, learning at the same time, and just appreciating the city. " She concluded.
