She now has over 100million fans on the popular social networking site.

The elated mother of one wrote: “100 million fans on Facebook! Thank you so much for joining me and propelling me on this incredible journey. I couldn’t do it without you all. Much love, Shak”

Shakira’s facebook page was quite active during the just-concluded FIFA World Cup, asides performing her hit song, “La La La”, at the closing ceremony, she also kept her fans abreast of her going-ons at the tournament.

57% of her fans are women, 58% of whom are single (58 per cent). Most of her fans come from Mexico City, Cairo and Istanbul. Her social media team post in different languages, including English, Spanish, German, French and Russian.
