Nigerian anti-Boko Haram campaigner wins $170,000 peace prize

For her tireless protests against Boko Haram killings and kidnappings, Tokyo-based Niwano Peace Foundation yesterday 24th February awarded a whooping sum of $170,000 prize to Nigerian anti-Boko Haram campaigner, Esther Ibanga.
Ibanga who is the founder of the Women Without Walls Initiative (WOWWI) has been very vocal in her campaigns against kidnappings in Adamawa, Borno, Gombe and Yobe states.‎
Esther has worked extensively to foster and facilitate reconciliation between conflicting religious and tribal groups, setting up an organization that has all tribal women leaders on its membership.”  The foundation said in a statement.
