Manchester United forward, Angel Di Maria has been handed a two weeks wages fine following his unauthorised absence. The Argentine was expected to meet up with his teammates in on July 25 but he, however, missed his flight and embarked on an unknown trip. United have withheld £360,000 from Di Maria’s pay and are expected to round up negotiations that will see him moving to Ligue 1 side, PSG.
After United manager Louis van Gaal admitted he did not know why Di Maria had not caught his flight as planned, talks quickly gained pace regarding an exit from Old Trafford just one year after his British-record £59.7 million arrival from Real Madrid. Di Maria recorded only 32 appearances in all competitions for United in 2014-15 including eight as a substitute, and started just one of the club’s final 10 fixtures.
