Arsenal centre-back, Gabriel's 3-match ban overturned.

Arsenal have won their appeal against the 3-match suspension of Arsenal defender, Gabriel following his clash with Chelsea’s Diego Costa during their game with the Blues last Saturday. Recall that the Brazilian was issued a red card by referee Mike Dean shortly after and was banned alongside Diego Costa by the FA yesterday.

An FA statement read:

“Arsenal’s claim of wrongful dismissal in relation to Gabriel has been upheld following an Independent Regulatory Commission hearing.

The player’s three-match suspension has, therefore, been withdrawn with immediate effect.

Gabriel was dismissed for violent conduct during the game against Chelsea on Saturday [19 September 2015]. The player is currently subject to a separate FA charge of improper conduct in relation to Saturday’s game and has until 6pm on Thursday [24 September 2015] to reply.”

‎The centre-back will now be available for tomorrow’s League Cup fixture against Tottenham, as well as upcoming league matches against Leicester City and Manchester United.‎ However, he still faces an FA charge of improper conduct, relating to his reaction when Dean sent him off. He has until Thursday to respond.
